Your recent edit to the lepidoptera article
[edit]Concerning the western population of the monarch butterfly... I am very glad that an interest is being shown in this article. At first glance, it seemed to me that no one had continued to improve it. The edit that I did to the caption on a photo of roosting monarch butterflies is very specific to the western population of monarch butterflies but not to the population of eastern monarch butterflies. Each population overwinters in different places. It is not accurate to assume that the photo represents the typical locale where monarchs overwinter. Most monarchs overwinter in Mexico. The photo of the roost in CA is representative of western monarch overwintering behavior, but not representative of all monarchs overwintering. My edit was to clarify. I make a lot of typos, but this wasn't one of them. PLEASE, please, feel free to continue to review and edit this article because I think that it needs it. I also invite you to review and edit any of the other insect related articles that I work on. There seems to be such little activity in the lepidoptera portal. Best Regards to You. bpage (talk) 22:35, 9 September 2014 (UTC)
- I hadn't in any way noticed the content of the caption itself, I just saw the typo and fixed it, overlooking what you explained here. As for article editing: I make very (very) small contributions, though I suppose I could agree there is little activity regarding lepidoptera (the portal or pages). Thanks. Gallery in Heliconius
[edit]- It wasn't a gallery. It was a "Gallery Pack". It is in many articles. It is done so a side by side comparison can be shown. I put them back up traditionally, but the article looked better the way I first posted them. Also, the next time you feel like reverting an experienced editor......think twice. We go to each others talk page and suggest things. We only revert VANDALS! - Pocketthis (talk) 02:15, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
- Hello. I cannot dispute the terminology of your addition as I am not familiar with it, I reverted the article based on an aesthetic notion that galleries and similar locales are not presented right after the introductory piece of text; I also imagined that you, by interest, would add it in a different position/manner. I take your admonition seriously about being attentive as to what and who's content I revert, since this didn't cross my mind: it didn't look right so I changed it without anything more to consider. Since I'm on this subject: I will edit the information on your text boxes for more proper entomological terms and lower casing. Thank you. Snjón (talk) 17:59, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
- I actually took a good look at your photographs. That is not a species of Heliconius butterfly, at all. It is most likely a species of the Nymphalinae sub-family, namely Vanessa cardui. Please remove them both. Thank you. Snjón (talk) 18:11, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
- Thank you, you've joined the club.-Pocketthis (talk) 22:15, 4 April 2015 (UTC)
Just ignore my edits to seabird
[edit]I was trying to thank you and I rolled back your changes. No matter I've rolled myself back now. Sabine's Sunbird talk 02:34, 26 February 2017 (UTC)
- No problem then. Thanks. Snjón (talk) 07:24, 28 February 2017 (UTC)
