Tautology (rhetoric)

Hi, it seems that you may be getting into a bit of an edit war with other users about adding xkcd to a list of notable tautology references in popular culture. xkcd is a widely read webcomic, and appears on other wikipedia pages. If you disagree still, I recommend you make a new section on the article talk page and explain why. I have rollbacked your edit for now. -Zeus-^u|c 21:55, 18 February 2010 (UTC)

Two edits against anonymous IP users is not a war. The content is invalid by policy. I will post on the article's talk page. "Appears on other Wikipedia pages" is a terrible argument. Please do not add commentary or your own personal analysis to Wikipedia articles, as you did to Charles Shaw wine. Doing so violates Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy and breaches the formal tone expected in an encyclopedia. Thank you. ~Amatulić (talk) 01:16, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

You mean the definition of the wine term "extreme value", which was *asked for* on the jug wine article (see [1]) and copied across to the Charles Shaw because that too was lacking definition for the term? It's not POV; extreme value means what I wrote, and is accompanied by a source. Snied (talk) 01:21, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

Sorry, I saw your jug wine edits after I left this note. It looked to me as if you were promoting an opinion regarding a particular brand of wine. In any case, the online source in jug wine defines "extreme value" as a premium wine at a bargain price, just the opposite of what you wrote.

Think about it. Inferior wine at a low price is fair value. Inferior wine should be cheap. Good wine at a low price has higher value, because you get better quality for your money. Premium wine at a bargain price is extreme value. ~Amatulić (talk) 01:29, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

It looks like I made a mistake about the meaning of the term "extreme value". Perhaps it would be a good idea to include your modified definition of the term as seen in the jug wine article in the Charles Shaw wine article so that it makes sense to people (like me) who are mostly unfamiliar with wine. I restored it while you were replying to me. I have seen the term before, so I thought it would be appropriate to include, especially when sourced, and especially for Charles Shaw, which is probably the most extreme value you can get!
