CWTS Leiden Ranking

[edit]

Greetings!

I've noticed that you have changed the CWTS Leiden Ranking on a number of articles.

Can you please explain this change further?

Hi,
Thank you for your message. I noticed that you focus on the total number of publications produced by a specific institute, but this doesn't account for the quality of those publications. The CWTS Leiden Rankings, by default, rank universities based on the total number of publications within a given period. However, this method can be misleading, as it often overlooks well-known institutions like Oxford University, MIT, and Princeton University, which are renowned for producing high-quality research. If you sort the rankings using the percentage of publications in the top 10% (PP top 10%), you'll get a more accurate picture of the institutions' research impact and quality. I encourage you to try this approach to see the difference for yourself.
Thanks and Best Regards. Snabnack (talk) 11:26, 10 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
