Why do you keep deleting the Indianapolis information?
Indianapolis can't be backed by any true MLS league sources as a truly being under consideration. therefore till there something more than just a facebook page, the information will continue to be deleted. Why do you continue to keep adding the information?
Stop adding till there is an offical sources that Indianapolis is under considersation. The source must be creditiable.
Copyright violations
[edit]Please don't copy paste material from sources to Wikipedia as you did at Expansion of Major League Soccer. Even if you supply a reference it is still a copyright violation. I have removed the infringing material, but feel free to rewrite it in your own words in a neutral way (i.e. not with words like miraculous, meteoric etc.) Del♉sion23 (talk) 19:42, 8 October 2012 (UTC)
- Looks like you just copied and pasted content from the source in this edit. Please make sure your additions are in your words and paraphrase, not copy, the source you're citing i.e. convey the information in an encyclopedic style, not repeating platitudes from officials, etc --Mosmof (talk) 17:32, 4 June 2013 (UTC)
- I don't understand why this is hard to understand - stop copy-pasting text from articles and stop stating opinions/speculation as fact. Mosmof (talk) 15:36, 24 July 2013 (UTC)

Expansion of Major League Soccer
[edit]Hello, I see you have made a number of edits to the Expansion of Major League Soccer page that other editors have disagreed with. I wanted to pass on a few comments about editing in general. First, when the page has an accurate direct quote from a reliable source (eg, the League Commissioner) that has a proper citation, do not alter quotes in a way that changes their meaning. Second, if you delete significant amounts of text, and another editor puts the text back in, don't keep deleting the text. Instead, leave the text there temporarily, and use the article's talk page to discuss. This is particularly true when the text you are deleting includes citations to reliable sources. See WP:EDITWAR and WP:CAUTIOUS. Barryjjoyce (talk) 02:44, 25 July 2013 (UTC)
Please stop deleting significant amounts of text that is properly cited. If you want to make significant deletions to the page, please discuss your suggestions first on the article's Talk page. Barryjjoyce (talk) 01:38, 28 July 2013 (UTC)
I noticed that you may have recently made edits to Expansion of Major League Soccer while logged out. There are two reasons why you should not edit while logged out: 1) doing so will reveal your IP address; and 2) people may accuse you of sockpuppetry, i.e. trying to make yourself look like multiple users in order to gain the upper hand in a dispute or rig votes in polls. If this was not your intention, then please always remember to log in when editing. Thank you. Mosmof (talk) 20:12, 6 August 2013 (UTC)
I deleted your recent additions to this page because they are copyright violations. You may want to familiarize yourself with the WP:COPYVIO policy to avoid this problem. Otherwise, you may find that other editors will continue to delete your contributions. Barryjjoyce (talk) 02:08, 20 September 2013 (UTC)

Stop adding the stalled bid without a reference to indicate there's something moving. Discuss now. We're both at WP:3RR Walter Görlitz (talk) 19:14, 1 October 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Your recent editing history at Expansion of Major League Soccer shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in your being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.
To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. See BRD for how this is done. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection. Copyright violations
[edit]Hello Smj91791, and welcome to Wikipedia. Your addition to Expansion of Major League Soccer has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributing to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from your sources to avoid copyright or plagiarism issues here.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and a cited source. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
- In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are public domain or compatibly licensed), it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at the help desk before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied without attribution. If you want to copy from another Wikipedia project or article, you can, but please follow the steps in Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. TDL (talk) 20:47, 1 October 2013 (UTC)
Your recent edits
[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment; or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button ( or ) located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 20:48, 1 October 2013 (UTC)

[edit]Please do not add original research or novel syntheses of published material to articles as you apparently did to Expansion of Major League Soccer. Please cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. Thank you. Please avoid engaging in an edit war and respond to the discussion at Talk:Expansion of Major League Soccer before reverting any more. You've already been blocked for constantly reverting other editors' changes without responding to their concerns. Mosmof (talk) 17:33, 28 November 2013 (UTC)
3RR Warning! — Jan 2014
[edit]You have deleted the same material from the Expansion of Major League Soccer page three times (twice using your Smj91791 account and once using the IP 76.171.82.162). Please stop. If you persist, an administrator may temporarily block you from editing, but it looks like you are already familiar with this how this process works. If you want to delete significant amounts of material from the MLS Expansion page, start a discussion on the talk page and try to avoid an edit war. Barryjjoyce (talk) 20:44, 21 January 2014 (UTC)

The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
