…Formal welcome over! Your question was, I take it, about this edit by my robot, which simply runs through Category:Wikipedia category redirects and blindly does what it's told! The category Category:Canadian Armed Forces is currently a category redirect to Category:Military of Canada, and was changed to be a redirect by another Wikipedian back in March 2005; I assume that the decision was that Canadian Armed Forces and Military of Canada are one and the same. I notice that the article Military of Canada redirects to Canadian Forces (this redirect was made back in February 2004), so Canadian Armed Forces may be the best title for the category. My query about putting the ship in this category is that Canadian Armed Forces may be too broad; there are subcategories Category:Canadian Air Force, Category:Canadian Army and Category:Navy of Canada, each with further subcategories: can you find more specific categories for The Royal Canadian Navy, the Canadian Armed Forces (Tri-Service) and the Canadian Forces (Naval Element)? The ship could be in all three of them. Ideally, articles should be in the most specific categories possible, rather than in the parent categories! As you can tell, I know very little about Canadian Military!
If you want to suggest changes to the category structure, a good start would be to post a suggestion on Category talk:Military of Canada (the category's discussion page); I expect more people will be watching Talk:Canadian Forces (the article's talk page) so that may be a better place to raise the question. The only nicety to bear in mind when discussing things like this is civility, and you score very highly on that front! (And bear in mind it may have been discussed before.)
You are an excellent Wikipedian: I hope you stay around! --RobertG ♬ talk 06:38, 16 September 2006 (UTC)
