Still an active proposal?
[edit]Just trying to clean up Category:Wikipedia proposals so wondering if this is still an active proposal or if it can be tagged otherwise? Hiding T 09:46, 25 August 2009 (UTC)
- I will developing the proposal over the next few days, let me know what you think.Smallman12q (talk) 14:02, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
- In all honesty I can't see this going anywhere. It's not really appropriate as a guideline, for starters, and it replicates advice from Wikipedia:Advice for new administrators, Wikipedia:Administrators and Wikipedia:What adminship is not. This looks more like a user essay or essay. I think I noticed a copy in user space a couple of days back, maybe both versions should be merged? I mean, at the end of the day this is common sense. Any admin should know this already, and if they don't a guideline isn't going to be any good because such admins will fall back on WP:IAR. It's worth noting though, that admins are by consensus granted by the community through a succesful RFA the trust that they may determine a consensus. So at times an admin does in some sense argue from authority. Hiding T 17:24, 6 September 2009 (UTC)
- There should be some logical explanation as to how the admin determined the consensus.Smallman12q (talk) 13:11, 7 September 2009 (UTC)
- Yes, but that point is made across a number of guidelines, policies and essays. I don't see what this proposal adds. Hiding T 00:13, 8 September 2009 (UTC)
