Hey!

[edit]

Yes, they are called templates and they are substituted onto the page to reduce server load. They can be found here. When a user creates a page, it is highlighted on a recent changes tracker that i use called Vandal Fighter. When i see those pages created, i look to see if they have good contributions, and then welcome them! Theres quite a few useful links of the welcome templates that i refer back to often. I hope that i can welcome the new users as i was welcomed. :) I noticed you blanked the welcome that i posted. There are bots that will archive or even delete your talk page after so many days. More can be found about that on this page. I hope you enjoy being a Wikipedian. If you have any questions, feel free to ask, if I dont know the answer, im sure we can find it or ask one of the many admins. Or you can get an administrator to adopt you with the Wiki-Adoption Program. Oh by the way, here is a helpful page for customizing your profile using Userboxes! Have fun! ^_^

If you post a reply, just post it here after my message! I have it on my watch page. :) put a colon : at the beginning of your message and it will indent it. Thats how we post replys on talk pages! ^_^ ✬Dillard421✬ (talkcontribs) 03:29, 23 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the reply, I haven't actually ever been contacted by anyone on Wikipedia before. I've actually taken to editing different articles (like the ones on Motorola phones) at work because it's one of few sites we have access to. It's handy for me to work on this stuff because all the info I need is right in front of me, though the major issue is how to provide verifications for the information... How do I provide verification to any of the info I add? It's all very well for me to go "I have the info here, so it's right..." but that doesn't really help any other users.. =/
I was actually looking at your userboxes, wondering how to do them myself... Guess I'll have to go do that soon, too... =)
Heheh, and apparantly after adding in my UserBoxes, I managed to destroy my formatting.. How can I build a scrollbox with the userboxes in it? I don't want to make my page hideous..
Thanks! ^^;

Hey sorry i didnt reply back to your post, i typed out something and then i fell asleep...heh so i just discarded what i had. hehe it looks like you got the userboxes on your page. :D yay! lol what i did, was created another page and put my userboxes on Here. And on the userbox page i inserted another page that i created that was just a box. okay this sounds confusing but on the userbox page, i put my list of userboxes inside the frame, and it made them scroll. I looked at other users' pages and learned from them, trial and error on my Sandbox page. :) ✬Dillard421✬ (talkcontribs) 06:04, 24 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also the Wikipedia Manual of Style might be of some use. It has some neat pages on the right margin. :) ✬Dillard421✬ (talkcontribs) 20:53, 26 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
