Page Deleted -- Can We Get the Text and Re-Post?

[edit]

Hi,

The page for our charity foundation, Starlight Starbright Children's Foundation has been deleted, and I would like to be able to recover the text and re-post. I believe the deletion had to do with the way our logo was uploaded -- can you advise, or direct me to someone who can help ensure we don't make the same mistake when re-posting our page... but, for now, how can I access the text to start fresh?

Thank you!

The article is still there - see the link - but it really does need some work - please read the guidleines on how to create a good article. Pay particlar attention to ensuring a NPOV. Also, please always sign your posts with ~~~~.Good luck! Brookie :) - a will o' the wisp ! (Whisper...) 05:42, 21 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for contributing to Wikipedia, Slsbomm! However, your edit here was reverted by an automated bot that attempts to remove spam from Wikipedia. If you were trying to insert a good link, please accept my creator's apologies, but note that the link you added, matching rule \bexample\.com, is on my list of links to remove and probably shouldn't be included in Wikipedia. Please read Wikipedia's external links policy for more information. If the link was to an image, please read Wikipedia's image tutorial on how to use a more appropriate method to insert the image into an article. If your link was intended to promote a site you own, are affiliated with, or will make money from inclusion in Wikipedia, please note that inserting spam into Wikipedia is against policy. For more information about me, see my FAQ page. Thanks! Shadowbot 22:09, 9 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. I hate to do this but I'm reverting all of your edits to this article. I just wanted to let you know I'm doing this for two reasons:

  1. Business owners, employees, and people shouldn't edit articles about themselves or the organizations they work for as it's generally considered to be a conflict of interest. In the case of employees editing articles about organizations/companies they work for, it is overlooked it the editor sticks to W:NPOV.
  1. A lot of the editing in this article violates NPOV. I edited this article down from what existed previously because it was tagged for deletion. I had to do so to save it. And now it seems to have all of the PR copy re-added. Wikipedia articles MUST adhere to the NPOV guideline in all cases. The sentence that beings "we invite you..." is out of compliance with this.

I really want to save the article, but please read up on Wikipedia article guidelines and in the future, make sure your edits are in compliance with them or the best that will happen is the edits will simply be reverted. The worst that could happen is the article is deleted or an administrator comes along and blocks you for disruption.

Hope this helps. We're glad to have you here, but plase do read up on the guidelines. Thanks. TheQuandry 13:47, 12 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Starlight Children's Foundation, requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which articles can be deleted at any time, without discussion. If the page meets any of these strictly-defined criteria, then it may be soon be deleted by an administrator. The reasons it has been tagged are:

  • It seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. (See section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information.
  • It appears to be a clear copyright infringement. (See section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion.) For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. However, even if you use one of these processes to release copyrighted material to Wikipedia, it still needs to comply with the other policies and guidelines to be eligible for inclusion. If you would like any assistance with this, you can ask a question at the help desk.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines.
