The Outer Limits

[edit]

I thought you should know that the user who created those new outer limits articles that were speedied and copyvios added some small plot synopsis to some of the old articles too. There appear to be copied and pasted from the website he listed in the ext links and refs section. There's not enough to trigger any sensible reaction as a copy vios (they are very short), but they do need cleaning up. - Motor (talk) 20:49, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, Motor. I suspected as much and I'm going through them one by one right now. To steal a phrase from you ... Grrr. -- Slowmover 20:52, 12 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you!

[edit]

Thanks for your kind words -- I'm really glad that you liked it. There have been days where it's easy to forget just why this place is important to me, and writing the essay helped; I hope it helps you too! Best wishes, and keep up the good wiki-work! — Catherine\talk 23:15, 2 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Applying the WP:CORP criteria for products and services

[edit]

UKPhoenix79 has cited several independently sourced product reviews in magazines, to demonstrate that the products satisfy the WP:CORP criteria for products and services. Please revisit the discussion with an eye to determining whether the WP:CORP criteria are satisfied by these published works (and any others that can be found), and thus whether fixing the article is a matter of cleaning it up using sources other than just the advertising and press releases put out by Bose itself, rather than deleting it. Excuse me ?

fix template broken by Matthew Fenton.

Would you like to tell me what you "fixed" - Looked to me like you where making an addition to it, and it was not "broken"; Had it been "broken" i would of known about it when i checked to make sure it was not "broken" thanks/Fenton, Matthew Lexic Dark 52278 Alpha 771 16:10, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

If you edit this version, immediately prior to your "overhaul", you will see that I simply put back the optional cinematography credit that you deleted (I assume you just made a mistake). The cinematography credit appears in every episode of the original 1960s series. This credit was added after some discussion about it earlier this year. Perhaps you could discuss template changes before making them, since they're not simple page edits. -- Slowmover 16:17, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, your summary said "fixed" however, it was meerly a mistake that i forgot to add it, the template was not broken however a summary like "re-added xxx bit which was missed from over haul" would of been more appropriate. thanks/Fenton, Matthew Lexic Dark 52278 Alpha 771 16:22, 13 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Summer Lovers DVD cover.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Summer Lovers DVD cover.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. John Graham (actor)

[edit]

I have added a "{{prod}}" template to the article John Graham (actor), suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may contest the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page. Also, please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. I agree. Not really notable. Slowmover 18:18, 15 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Slowmover, an automated process has found an image or media file tagged as nonfree media, such as fair use. The image (Image:Universe DVD cover.jpg) was found at the following location: User:Slowmover/NewArticles. This image or media will be removed per statement number 9 of our non-free content policy. The image or media will be replaced with Image:NonFreeImageRemoved.svg , so your formatting of your userpage should be fine. The image that was replaced will not be automatically deleted, but it could be deleted at a later date. Articles using the same image should not be affected by my edits. I ask you to please not re-add the image to your userpage and could consider finding a replacement image licensed under either the Creative Commons or GFDL license or released to the public domain. Please note that it is possible that the image on your page is included vie a template or usebox. In that case, please find a free image for the template or userbox. Thanks for your attention and cooperation. User:Gnome (Bot)-talk 05:41, 19 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free use disputed for Image:Universe_DVD_cover.jpg

[edit]
Warning sign This file may be deleted.

Thanks for uploading Image:Universe_DVD_cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ShakespeareFan00 21:22, 22 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Inspector Morse

[edit]

Hello Slowmover. Thank you for your note. You are not the only person who has changed this title. It is confusing as the wording is a bit odd. It is a little disheatening that A BBC website has made the same mistake. I suspect that whoever was doing the data entry for them also thought that the word "Settling" didn't make sense. They probably never watched the show! It just goes to show that even a reliable secondary source can be unreliable :-D Thanks for your efforts and happy editing. Proposed deletion of Royal Astronomical Society of Canada

[edit]

The article Royal Astronomical Society of Canada has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

lacks 3rd party references demonstrating notability of this organization.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. RadioFan (talk) 15:55, 19 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

GTA article - your edit

[edit]

Hi Slowmover, I've commented on your recent article edit here. Nothing in particular you've done wrong, just a systemic thing that bugs me, "an area as large as xxx", which I see crop up often enough that it stick in my craw as far as building a global 'cyclo goes.

I'm scanning through some project pages right now to either find existing guidance on this issue or figure out the best place to raise it. Any ideas on the best venue? Regards! Franamax (talk) 03:45, 27 November 2009 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited The Mosquito Coast, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page William Newman (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Notification of automated file description generation

[edit]

Your upload of File:Agave at Cape Sounion.jpg or contribution to its description is noted, and thanks (even if belatedly) for your contribution. In order to help make better use of the media, an attempt has been made by an automated process to identify and add certain information to the media's description page.

This notification is placed on your talk page because a bot has identified you either as the uploader of the file, or as a contributor to its metadata. It would be appreciated if you could carefully review the information the bot added. To opt out of these notifications, please follow the instructions here. Thanks! Do not blank a redirect to get it deleted. Instead, follow the instructions at WP:RFD and seek a consensus. Alternatively, you could tag the redirect with {{db-r3}}, however the criterion does not apply to Lux Haney-Jardine as the redirect was made in 2013. Jalen D.
