Speedy deletion of "Sleegi"

[edit]

A page you created, Sleegi, has been tagged for deletion, as it meets one or more of the criteria for speedy deletion; specifically, it is about a website, but it does not indicate how it is important or significant, and thus why it should be included in an encyclopedia. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and the guidelines for websites in particular.

You are welcome to contribute content which complies with our content policies and any applicable inclusion guidelines. However, please do not simply re-create the page with the same content. You may also wish to read our introduction to editing and guide to writing your first article.

Your 3DS pic.

[edit]

I have removed this pic, because although the license checks out, it's still a pic that Nintendo made, and thus cannot be used. Thanks. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 20:55, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You get points for checking the licensing, but in this case, we need pictures not released by Nintendo. That Flickr user simply uploaded Nintendo's pics and used them as his own. Look for... "unofficial" pics. Also, to check to make sure that your edits have worked, use the Show Preview button. And please refrain from using second-person pronouns like "you". And sign your comments. Thanks, will do! I have never seen the "show preview" before, so I will certainely start using that. Won't use second-person words anymore. Also, "Unofficial" got it! -- Sleegi[✆Talk] 14:15, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Also, be on the lookout for pics that look "too" neat. It may be a sign that it's one of Nintendo's computer-generated pics. (Yep. That's how they look so clean and shiny.) Don't worry about getting better pics yet. Just wait until it actually comes out. TheStickMan[✆Talk] 17:38, 4 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Your recent edits

[edit]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 21:10, 3 February 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nintendo task force membership update

[edit]

Hello,

It's that time again to update membership status with the Nintendo task force, which we try to do periodically to keep our membership up-to-date.

All participants have been placed on an "Inactive participants" list. To confirm that you're still a member of the Nintendo task force, simply go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Nintendo#Members and move your name from the "Inactive participants" list to the bottom of the "Active participants" list. If you are no longer an active member in the task force, you may simply remove your name altogether. After 1 month, on 1 August 2011, all entries under the "Inactive participants" list will be removed. Hopefully you can stay with us and continue to work on Nintendo-related articles. Talk page archiving

[edit]

Hi, thanks for archiving the long talk page at Talk:Battlefield 3! Just a note for future reference, it's okay to leave recent discussions, especially if they are pending response, such as an edit request or a question no one has answered yet. In general it's a good idea to leave the last few weeks of discussion. Thanks! — Bility (talk) 18:07, 28 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Noting that, and will do so from now on. The page just started to get too long, getting close to 50 topics. -- Sleegi[✆Talk] 19:56, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

National varieties of English

[edit]

Information icon In a recent edit to the page Atlanta United FC, you changed one or more words or styles from one national variety of English to another. Because Wikipedia has readers from all over the world, our policy is to respect national varieties of English in Wikipedia articles.

For a subject exclusively related to the United Kingdom (for example, a famous British person), use British English. For something related to the United States in the same way, use American English. For something related to India, use Indian English. For something related to another English-speaking country, such as Canada, Australia, New Zealand or Ireland, use the variety of English used there. For an international topic, use the form of English that the original author of the article used.

In view of that, please don't change articles from one version of English to another, even if you don't normally use the version in which the article is written. Respect other people's versions of English. They, in turn, should respect yours. Other general guidelines on how Wikipedia articles are written can be found in the Manual of Style. If you have any questions about this, you can ask me on my talk page or visit the help desk. In the United States, the sport is still known as "soccer" even if the team name has "FC" in it.
