Deoria district
[edit]We already have an article on Deoria district, which you can find at Deoria. Please make all changes there. We are not allowed to have 2 articles on the same topic. Thanks. Qwyrxian (talk) 06:05, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
- District and city are DIFFERENT topics. DISTRICT has 5 different tehsils, and city of Deoria is only one of them. You made wrong thing. --Slb nsk (talk) 06:09, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
- Please actually look at Deoria--it isn't about the city, it's about the district. We don't have an article about Deoria the city. Now, maybe we need one, but the way you're trying to fix it is the wrong way. In other words, if you want to make an article about the city, we can do that, but we're going to have to move around some pages, which you're going to need an admin to do. If you want, we can move the entire contents of Deoria to Deoria district, and leave nothing where Deoria is now. But please stop edit warring and discuss this--when editors disagree on Wikipedia, the correct step is to talk about it, not just fight to keep your version. Qwyrxian (talk) 06:23, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
- Ugh...now it's getting to all be a mess. Please stop editing for a minute while we try and work this out. One minute. Qwyrxian (talk) 06:25, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
- Okay, please clarify: How many place are called Deoria, and what are their types--tehsil, district, city, town, village, etc.? We can fix this, but I need more information to do so. Qwyrxian (talk) 06:26, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
- According to official site of the Deoria district, it is divided on 5 tehsils: deoria sadar, salempur, rudrapur, berhaj and bhatparrani. District has its own magistrate, each of tehsils has its own magistrate. Census of India 2001 demonstrates, that town of Deoria has only about 100.000 habitants, and district of Deoria has about 2.5-3 million habitabts. Obviously, town and district are different things :-) --Slb nsk (talk) 06:43, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
- Okay, I'm checking now. We have the articles for Salempur, Uttar Pradesh and Rudrapur, Uttar Pradesh, but not for the other ones. So, it looks like we need an article titled Deoria, Utter Pradesh--that would be the correct title for the article about the town. Then, we need an article for Deoria district. So, I believe that the correct solution is to move Deoria to Deoria, Utter Pradesh, and undo the redirect and Deoria district. Then we need to make Deoria a disambiguation page (like Salempur), with links to Deoria district and Deoria, Uttar Pradesh. Does that seem to fix the problem? If so, I can do the necessary work; I think I'll need to do it because some of it involves moves that only admins can do. Afterward, you can go ahead and add all of the new information to the article.
- Sorry to make this seem so complicated; at first I couldn't understand what you were doing, then I realized that what needs to be done in order to be sure that all of the edits are properly organized and attributed is fairly complex.
- If this is right, I'll take care of the changes later (I probably won't get to it for at least 3 or 4 hours, and may not get to it until tomorrow--depends on if I have time to work on WP later tonight). Qwyrxian (talk) 07:09, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
- I think you are right. Your merging produced a big interwiki-conflict, and I simply tried to repair links :-) --Slb nsk (talk) 07:17, 22 August 2011 (UTC)
- Alright, I've fixed it now, mostly. Deoria district is for the district, Deoria, Uttar Pradesh is for the tehsil, Deoria (Lok Sabha constituency) is for the constituency, and Deoria is a disambiguation page. I started looking through the list of "What links here" on Deoria, because many of those need to be disambiguated, but I only got part way through; some I'm not sure on, and I'm about out of time for this right now; I'll try to do more tomorrow. You're free to edit all of the articles now. Sorry for any confusion and for responding a bit aggressively at the beginning. Let me know if you need any help. The article Yevgeni Korolkov has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.
If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Bihco (talk) 07:16, 3 March 2012 (UTC)
Ningyuan, Anshan listed at Redirects for discussion
[edit]An editor has asked for a discussion to address the redirect Ningyuan, Anshan. Since you had some involvement with the Ningyuan, Anshan redirect, you might want to participate in the redirect discussion (if you have not already done so). GotR Talk 05:18, 24 May 2012 (UTC)
The article Provisional Siberian Government (Vologodskii) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- it is a Unsourced article
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Mdann52 (talk) 16:30, 2 August 2012 (UTC)
Mergers
[edit]Dear Slb nsk, I am aware of our slight difference in opinion with regard to the merger of the Heerenveen article. Please note that I have suggested a merger in the exact same circumstances for Beek as well. Because it would have the same arguments, I would suggest to keep most of the discussion on the Heerenveen page. I understand from some of the other comments on this page that you are particularly worried about some interwiki links. I do note that other language wikipedia's have different customs for the split between these kind of municipality articles, but that I would ensure through proper redirecting that those would still link properly to the English language article. Proposed deletion
[edit]Per the rules at WP:PROD, any editor, including the creator of the page, may remove a prod for any reason, or even no reason at all. Once that is done, you have to take the article to WP:AFD instead. So I declined your re-applied prod on Siberian Republic; if you still fee the article should be deleted, you can nominate it via AfD. Qwyrxian (talk) 08:22, 22 February 2013 (UTC)
Disambiguation link notification for May 4
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Russia Eastern Outskirts, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Chita (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.
