Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Getting Things Done. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include (but are not limited to) links to personal web sites, links to web sites with which you are affiliated, and links that attract visitors to a web site or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Since Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by some search engines, including Google. If you feel the link should be added to the article, please discuss it on the article's talk page rather than re-adding it. Thank you. -FrankTobia (talk) 22:54, 2 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. If you are affiliated with some of the people, places or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest. In keeping with Wikipedia's neutral point of view policy, edits where there is a conflict of interest, or where such a conflict might reasonably be inferred, are strongly discouraged. If you have a conflict of interest, you should avoid or exercise great caution when:

  1. editing or creating articles related to you, your organization, or its competitors, as well as projects and products they are involved with;
  2. participating in deletion discussions about articles related to your organization or its competitors; and
  3. linking to the Wikipedia article or website of your organization in other articles (see Wikipedia:Spam).

Please familiarize yourself with relevant policies and guidelines, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, verifiability of information, and autobiographies.

For information on how to contribute to Wikipedia when you have a conflict of interest, please see our frequently asked questions for organizations. Thank you. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 07:09, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is your last warning; the next time you create an inappropriate page, you may be blocked from editing without further notice. None of the external references I checked mention you at all. Please do not write about yourself. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 07:15, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. First off, there's a conflict of interest. You simply cannot write about yourself. Second, as I pointed out, none of the links I clicked on mentioned you by name. However, if you are notable and can work around the conflict of interest as outlined at the link, I'll do for you what I've done for a couple of other users, that is, I'll create a user subpage for you. You can then work on the article without fear of its being deleted. I'll be back in a moment. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 07:22, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

OK, you're set: User:Slavingia/Sahil Lavingia. Good luck and have fun. I know the templates can be somewhat stern, but we get a lot of recreated content which doesn't belong. On the other hand, some good third-party references (other than from sites like Twitter and Facebook) are the sorts of references which help an article to stay. Good night and happy new year to you. Regards, --PMDrive1061 (talk) 07:26, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Looks as if we've crossed signals; yes, this is the proper place for a discussion.  :) What you need to do is to be able to link to online coverage of your work. You can quote print media as well. There's no deadline, so there's no hurry. The subpage won't be deleted. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 07:29, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

No problem. It won't automatically become an article, but it's easy to do. Simply copy the text in edit mode once it's ready and paste it to Sahil Lavingia. The article will then be "live" in the article space and, of course, that link will turn from red to blue. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 07:33, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you must sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 07:30, 31 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Sahil Lavingia requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. Travelbird (talk) 10:14, 15 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]
