Mau, India
[edit]Hi: I saw the external link you added for Mau, India. Do you know what the copyright status of the information is for that page? It is identical to the history section of the wikipedia article, and I suspect that some inexperienced editor may have added the content without due throught to copyright considerations. -- Whpq 21:32, 24 August 2006 (UTC)
Taj Mahal NPOV Tag
[edit]Would you care to explain your reasoning for this tag?--Nemonoman 00:59, 27 August 2006 (UTC)
UP image
[edit]I converted the image to a JPEG. That shows up. Will that work. - Ganeshk (talk) 18:30, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- The locator map you had used as a source was designed by User:PlaneMad. I have seen this happen to other images (png extension) he created. Some thing to with the photo software (settings) he uses. - Ganeshk (talk) 18:44, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
Stub sorting
[edit]I see do a lot of stub sorting. Are you using WP:AWB? Make it lot easier. - Ganeshk (talk) 18:39, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
- If you know programming, python wikipedia framework could do the same thing. Not sure Python runs on Linux. - Ganeshk (talk) 18:51, 28 September 2006 (UTC)
Hindi wiki
[edit]I think I could see the tiny picture of UP in the template. There's nothing special about the template format. And you are most welcome, and it is my deep request, that you start contributing to the Hindi wikipedia. Cygnus_hansa 17:24, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
Lucknow's peer review
[edit]I saw you updated the peer review section on WP:INCITIES. There are series of steps that you need to follow to bring an article to peer review. For more information, see WP:PR and follow the instructions. - Ganeshk (talk) 16:30, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
- I checked the Lucknow article. Peer review process is for articles that have been completed and need a external review. The Lucknow article is far from complete. I would suggest you remove the peer review request and add the article to the WP:INCOTW queue. - Ganeshk (talk) 23:48, 3 October 2006 (UTC)
Regarding WikiProject Germany
[edit]Thank you very much for indicating an interest in the proposed WikiProject Germany. I note in particular you indicated an interest in German engineers and scientists. I hope that you don't take this as my indicating that I don't think the project will be dealing with them, because I am certain we will and I would welcome any improvement to their articles, whether done by the project or not. However, if what you were talking about was fundamentally the biographies of these individuals, I'm thinking that such a group might fall more clearly under the purview of Wikipedia:WikiProject Biography. I am acquainted with two of the more active members of that group, Plange and Kingboyk, and am contacting them regarding how they think we could all proceed most effectively regarding the subject of such biographies. That project has the advantage of more explicitly dealing with biographies per se, and is also quite effective at establishing subject-specific working groups within the larger project. I hope to hear from them soon, and will relay the information to you as soon as I get it. Thank you again for your interest in the project. I'll be "officially" starting the project when we either reach ten listed members, or the weekend, whichever comes first, and I am thankful for your interest and hope to be working with you soon. The newsletter is back! Many things have gone on during the past few months, but many things have not. While the assessment drive helped revitalize the assessment department of the project, many other departments have received no attention. Most notably: peer review and our "workgroups". A day long IRC meeting has been planned for October 13th, with the major focus being which areas of the project are "dead", what should our goals be as a project, and how to "revive" the dead areas of our project. Contribute to the discussion on the the new channel (see below) We decided to deliver this newsletter to all project members this month but only those with their names down here will get it delivered in the future. This is your newsletter and you can be involved in the creation of the next issue. Any and all contributions are welcome. Simply let yourself be known to any of the undersigned or post news on the next issue's talk page
Lastly, a new WikiProject Biography channel has been set up on the freenode network: Our thanks to Phoenix 15 for setting it up.

AWB
[edit]this edit was worse than completely worthless. The man's from the 18th century, meaning that his name wasn't always spelled the same. In fact, it was sometimes spelled Preist. If you actually looked at the edits you were making with AWB, you would see that. I have no idea why the complete date link at the bottom was removed, since this is general accepted practice, including in persondata templates. I have already reverted this edit twice in the past, and I'm getting sick of it. If there's some sort of person who's more in charge of AWB who I can whine at about this, please let me know. - I'm sorry, I shouldn't have been so snippy with you. Please accept my apology. Mak (talk) 19:25, 29 October 2006 (UTC)

Helping out with the Unassessed Wikipedia Biographies
[edit]Seeing that you are an active member of the WikiBiography Project, I was wondering if you would help lend a hand in helping us clear out the amount of unassessed articles tagged with {{WPBiography}}. Many of them are of stub and start class, but a few are of B or A caliber. Getting a simple assessment rating can help us start moving many of these biographies to a higher quality article. Thank you! --Ozgod 20:50, 23 February 2007 (UTC)

The task force dedicated to creating and improving articles on all German cities and municipalities is happy to announce that there are now (at least) stub articles for all municipalities of Germany. Now the task force is looking for help in fleshing these out a little bit. The current phase of activity for the task force is to copy in infoboxes from the articles in German Wikipedia. If you want to help, even just for a few articles, look at the instructions and links here
There are now way over 26.000 articles tagged as part of our Wikiproject and many still need either an importance or a quality assessment. Also there are many more out there that do need to be tagged like approx 8000 municipalities. If you would like to help take a browse through Articles needing Importance assessment or Articles needing a basic quality assessment. |
