Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia:
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- No edit warring or abuse of multiple accounts.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Do not use talk pages as discussion or forum pages as Wikipedia is not a forum.
The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Signature
[edit]Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bilingual Sylheti Speakers, (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:
- Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
- With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.
This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.
Emphasis on when, in this case, as you did not date your comments. –LaundryPizza03 (dc̄) 20:18, 18 June 2021 (UTC)
Thanks, I was looking for that. Slake000 (talk) 21:31, 18 June 2021 (UTC)
Language Templates
[edit]You can use the templates {{lang-bn}} and {{lang}} to add Bengali text. {{langx|bn|বাংলাদেশ}} yields "Bengali: বাংলাদেশ", and {{lang|bn|বাংলাদেশ}} just "বাংলাদেশ". This is helpful for screen readers and other automatic tools. –Austronesier (talk) 13:48, 6 August 2021 (UTC)
Thanks for your helpful tips! Slake000 (talk) 10:08, 7 August 2021 (UTC)
Vandalism
[edit]Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, you may be blocked from editing. UserNumber (talk) 17:20, 5 July 2021 (UTC)
Do you own the Wikipedia? Stop edit warring and your arrogant behaviour. Provide authentic reference to any content. Slake000 (talk) 13:34, 30 September 2021 (UTC)
- I don't agree with UserNumber that your edit was vandalism. But it was a bad edit. How on earth is d'Hubert & Papas (2018) "Not reliable Information"?[1] It's an academic source from a high-quality publisher. The text clearly says that Sylheti Nagri texts were written in Middle Bengali, albeit with a specifically Sylheti flavor. I suggest that you read sources carefully first before you delete content that is based on them just because you don't like it. –Austronesier (talk) 14:01, 30 September 2021 (UTC)
- @Austronesier: At this point, it can be called vandalism. We have dealt with this user in a number of occasions but it seems that he never learns. He is literally removing information that he doesn't like and using invalid excuses. UserNumber (talk) 14:04, 30 September 2021 (UTC)
- @UserNumber: Apart from the terminology, I think the bottomline is that we agree that this behavior of @Slake000 needs to change, or else it will lead straight back to ANI. –Austronesier (talk) 14:14, 30 September 2021 (UTC)

1. d'Hubert & Papas (2018) reference is not unreliable, but misuse of this reference. The article in that particular page clearly distinguish Sylheti puthi from Bengali Dobhashi. 2. In the region section 'Greater Nuakhali' based on unreliable information. Nuakhali itself a part of greater Chittagong. Regardless current version of region exclude indian users because USERnumber is biased towards Bengali nationalism not editing neutrally. Sylheti nagri is used in both countries, other than primary region, secondary region is North Bangladesh/India. 3. At @UserNumber: stop your arrogant and disrespectful comments. You seems to me very rude. If you disagree with any edit you are welcome to a consensus but do not rollback and edit war. Slake000 (talk) 14:18, 30 September 2021 (UTC)
