Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Skymhnty. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Drive Increaser, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. GermanJoe (talk) 20:51, 28 October 2018 (UTC)
Junior Science Talent Search Examination - extensive data
[edit]Hello Skymhnty, thank you for your efforts to create and improve this article. However, Wikipedia articles are only supposed to provide a succinct encyclopedic overview of a topic, providing only information about its most noteworthy significant facts. Extensive secondary internal information, data, schedules, and other similar day-to-day information are usually not added. Such extended information should be hosted on the topic's own website, or in additional specialized sites and literature (see also WP:INDISCRIMINATE and WP:NOTDIRECTORY among other editing guidelines). I hope I could clarify this aspect, but please feel free to ask me or post at WP:Teahouse if you need any help with Wikipedia-related questions. Best regards. Ways to improve Junior Science Talent Search Examination
[edit]Thanks for creating Junior Science Talent Search Examination.
A New Page Patroller Graeme Bartlett just tagged the page as having some issues to fix, and wrote this note for you:
independent references - eg newspapers are good
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can reply over here and ping me. Or, for broader editing help, you can talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.
Delivered via the Page Curation tool, on behalf of the reviewer.

Your edit summary question
[edit]Hello Skymhnty, I'll just answer the question here. Communicating via edit summaries is a bit sub-optimal ;). Of course you can ask me at my user talkpage anytime, if you need help with something Wikipedia-related. To the actual question: I think a pure text logo doesn't add a lot to the article in this specific case. But it's not a big deal either way - if you think it's useful, no problem to keep it. You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia, as you did with this edit to P. J. Hyett. Serols (talk) 19:41, 31 October 2018 (UTC)
Wikipedia and copyright
[edit]Hello Skymhnty, and welcome to Wikipedia. All or some of your addition(s) to FIITJEE have been removed, as they appear to have added copyrighted material without evidence of permission from the copyright holder. While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues here.
- You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
- Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. (There is a college-level introduction to paraphrase, with examples, hosted by the Online Writing Lab of Purdue.) Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
- Our primary policy on using copyrighted content is Wikipedia:Copyrights. You may also want to review Wikipedia:Copy-paste.
- If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
- In very rare cases (that is, for sources that are PD or compatibly licensed) it may be possible to include greater portions of a source text. However, please seek help at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions, the help desk or the Teahouse before adding such content to the article. 99.9% of sources may not be added in this way, so it is necessary to seek confirmation first. If you do confirm that a source is public domain or compatibly licensed, you will still need to provide full attribution; see Wikipedia:Plagiarism for the steps you need to follow.
- Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps in Wikipedia:Translation#How to translate. See also Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia.
It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa 🍁 (talk) 12:47, 4 November 2018 (UTC)
Blocked for sockpuppetry
[edit]This account has been blocked indefinitely from editing for sock puppetry per evidence presented at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/Skymhnty. Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but using them for illegitimate reasons is not, and that any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted. If you believe that this block was in error, and you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by first reading the guide to appealing blocks, then adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}} below. Block evasion
[edit]This user has engaged in block evasion as Tuwein and has threatened to continue evading the block unless we ignore the violations of WP:SOCK and WP:EVADE. This happened in January, 2019. --Yamla (talk) 19:26, 17 January 2019 (UTC)
