[edit]Hello, I'm Njd-de. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to Everspark have been undone because they appeared to be promotional. Advertising and using Wikipedia as a "soapbox" are against Wikipedia policy and not permitted; Wikipedia articles should be written objectively, using independent sources, and from a neutral perspective. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about Wikipedia. NJD-DE (talk) 14:56, 31 December 2020 (UTC)
I can talk on my own page! I figured this out. I was tasked with updating the Wiki page and it just seemed so bare, I wanted to fill it up. But I understand now this information should be strictly informational in nature. I removed the link and promotional info, left only a few sentences of the update to the company. Would it still be okay to include a photo of the CEO on the page? Skarwisch (talk) 15:29, 31 December 2020 (UTC)
- Ok, so now you can find the list of things to pay attention to, just as mentioned in the talk on my talk page.
- A picture of the CEO would fit better on his own Wikipedia article if he has one. NJD-DE (talk) 15:32, 31 December 2020 (UTC)
He does not, unfortunately. It's alright, I can just leave it out. Skarwisch (talk) 15:35, 31 December 2020 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Skarwisch. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the page Everspark, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.
Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. NJD-DE (talk) 15:31, 31 December 2020 (UTC)
Understood. Thank you.
