Sigma kappa alpha
[edit]The article Sigma kappa alpha has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.
Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. - You'll need to provide reliable sources that establish the notability of your group. You should also be sure not to cut and paste existing text as it violates our policies concerning submissions. (Tip-offs that this was happening include the fact that the article was written in the first person (i.e., "We are a group...", etc.) -- Merope 20:04, 21 June 2007 (UTC)

It's important to properly source any article and assert the importance of the group. My instincts (and deletion precedents) suggest that it's unlikely that an article on a single branch of a national fraternity will be notable enough for consideration, but perhaps the national organization may work... — Scientizzle 20:16, 21 June 2007 (UTC)
Without seeing a copy of your new article I couldn't tell you for sure...but the information you included in your message doesn't make it (in my opinion) likely to stand up to the notability guidelines (members with military activity isn't unusual) unless it can be demonstrated that the organization has received non-trivial coverage (think newspaper articles and the like). — Scientizzle 21:15, 12 July 2007 (UTC)
