Week 3 Feedback
[edit]Great work on finding some good sources and breaking down your article into digestible parts. Also, someone answered you on the article's talk page! Yay! KHillWells (talk) 14:13, 19 September 2019 (UTC)
Week 5 Feedback
[edit]Stephanie, I really like that you are correcting all the citations and the numbers behind some of those species accounts. This is good editing even if you don't add huge amounts of text. KHillWells (talk) 19:11, 3 October 2019 (UTC)
Week 7 Feedback
[edit]Hi Stephanie,
- Your article is a pretty well developed one but there is a lot that you can add. You had an outline written down for how you were going to proceed but I think it was in your sandbox and maybe you deleted it to paste the article? Anyway, I just remember that you had a good process figured out and the outline was good.
- The work that you have been doing so far is great. You have been adding a lot of great references and facts and changing the language so that it sounds more professional.
- I think you should hold off from the tiny grammatical, link, reference changes for now. I know that this has been your process and I think it is extremely important but I am worried that these changes might get lost when moving from Sandbox to Mainspace. It seems that when you will be moving the article from the sandbox, you will just be copying sentence by sentence and I am afraid that some of the smaller changes might get missed. Do you think you can focus on some writing in the sandbox and leave the editorial changes for later? We will be moving into the Mainspace soon.
Geology, Geography, and Ecology section
[edit]For some of the climate facts, it looks like some of the information you added about rainfall conflicts with what was added below (the wettest months). Just double check your facts and delete the one that is less accurate. The climate section could be streamlined a bit so that it is not repeated twice. I think you mentioned that your next step is going to be talking about the flora/fauna and I think that is good. A lot of people are interested in this information and I think it will be easy to write about. I think that whole section about Fauna especially could be edited for flow. Like that part about the snail. It's interesting but it seems to not fit the overall feel of the paragraph.
Ecological Stability Section
[edit]This section name is a little confusing to me. I would rather see that it is called "Threats". I can see on the talk page of the article that a few years ago someone had an issue with this section, saying that it is biased. From what I am reading and from what I know about wetlands, it seems that these threats are real, but maybe I would double check the sources that have been added to these statements and elaborate on some of these threats. I don't know why someone re-named this section Ecological Stability because that name is very scientific and does not mean anything to the typical reader. It doesn't even mean anything to me. I would re-name it threats.
These are my thoughts so far. I gave you a bunch to work with. You are certainly on the right path. Just remember to publish your changes frequently and every time you do, write a summary of what you did, so that someone can follow along. When you answer any of my comments here, make sure to use the colon to start your answer. This will indent your text so it can be easily differentiated from mine. Good luck KHillWells (talk) 15:48, 10 October 2019 (UTC)
- I definitely agree about the ecological stability issue and calling it threats. I had found a scientific journal talking about issues with the Pantanal without a bias and uses an economic framework to discuss it. In regards to climate I will recheck some information. As for the fauna/flora pieces yes I found some other sources that will help make things flow easier when talking about the wildlife there. SjminarikWells (talk) 19

Peer Review Week 8
[edit]Hey Stephanie, First off great job at adding to your article. There is loads of solid information, and I feel like I learned something about Pantanal so that's good! There are a couple sections where you have no citations at all, for example, the section "geography, geology, and ecology" has no citations within it. I would work on finding sources that can be used to support what you are saying in that section. Overall, I feel like you have a well rounded article, my pointers would just be adding more sources to support the information.
