Clean up
Thanks for cleaning up after me... I wasn't aware of the 'conventions' surrounding the poker players and now know better for future articles that I write.Balloonman 01:19, 25 July 2007 (UTC)
- No problem, nice work on all the new articles by the way. ▪◦▪≡ЅiREX≡Talk 01:28, 25 July 2007 (UTC)

Wendeen
Holy cow, what an article. It sure needs a major clean up. Some of those links are totally generic and need to be removed. 2005 20:46, 28 July 2007 (UTC)
I read your comment, I've been working on citations to specific sources, the links are to specific articles. Should I have put the titles to the specific articles or are these reference sources (other internet sources) excessive? Your help is appreciated. I'm a newbie doing this...--Ildarspb 21:59, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

The Editor's Barnstar | ||
I think we've done a hell of a job working together on the poker article. Thanks... Balloonman 04:30, 31 July 2007 (UTC) |
- I hope the World Series of Poker bracelet article receives GA approval, I seen you been working very hard on it lately, and BTW thank you for my first barnstar! ▪◦▪ЅiREXTalk 04:44, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- You're kidding me this is your first! I would have expected you to have gotten one before. I was going to give you one earlier, but then you gave me one... and I didn't want to give you one as it might have seemed tit-for-tat... but then I realized that I wasn't giving you one for the absolute wrong reason... you've added pictures to most of the articles I've written and cleaned them up--which isn't my strong suit. So you've done two things that have really helped the articles I've worked on... again... I feel like we've been better than the sum of the parts! ThanksBalloonman 04:49, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- Sorry about slow response I'm playing poker :), I see what you mean tho, but I don't give barnstars to receive them, I have given out less then ten, it may be a bit WP:COI to get this barnstar, well not really ;), but it is good to get one and I'm not turning it down! anyway it good to see an editor come along like yourself come out of seemingly nowhere and add a great deal of quality and development to articles, instead haven't to revert vandal's edits day in and day out. anyways thanks again ▪◦▪ЅiREXTalk 05:39, 31 July 2007 (UTC)
- I've actually played around with poker articles on occassion over the past 7 or 8 months, but I was kind of avoiding the subject.Balloonman 18:21, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

John Juanda
Hey there Sirex,
Do you think it would be OR if I added a comment to the John Juanda page that my wife thinks he's the sexiest guy in poker ;-) (next to me of course)Balloonman 18:18, 2 August 2007 (UTC)

striking of personal attack on Wikipedia:Articles_for_deletion/The_Ernies
spazure (contribs) has smiled at you! Smiles promote WikiLove and hopefully this one has made your day better. Spread the WikiLove by smiling at someone else, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or a good friend. Happy editing!
I've traced the IP to somebody in my town, so I assume this vandal/attacker knows me personally. I'm trying to not draw attention to him/her, to avoid encouraging it, but I appreciate other editors taking care of the disruption.
Smile at others by adding {{subst:Smile}} to their talk page with a friendly message.
I understand an argument for WP:DENY could by made, but I felt a warning was in order nevertheless, thank you for the Smile btw, cheers▪◦▪≡ЅiREX≡Talk 09:01, 17 August 2007 (UTC)
Non-English articles
Replied here. And thank you so much again for the assistance! Ariel♥Gold 06:44, 22 August 2007 (UTC)
- LOL I have most of those sites bookmarked already, but thanks for the one new one! Did you ever check out Slooh? I had a sub there for a while, and jeeez, seriously, the live images, just fascinating. I canceled it after about a year, because I had seen enough, it isn't quite the same as having your own huge telescope lol. Also have you checked out Galaxy Zoo? It is down right now (wonder how long it has been down), but it is a project where after going through some recognition practice, you can help classify the millions of galaxy images taken, really fascinating stuff! I have to admit though, my passion is space travel, so you'll find me more on the mission sites, than on the general astronomy sites. Still, darned interesting, and if I had it all to do over, I'd probably focus my education in that direction instead. (Oh to be able to do it all over again...) I really like your user page too, especially the "pi" box, lol. Too cool! I would like to figure out how to get a picture of a cat in a box, that would randomly disappear when clicked on, lol (obscure quantum physics reference, lol), but so far I'm not good enough to figure out how to that. And honestly, my "programming" is more along the lines of, take something, in this case my userpage came from the template Cartella, and I would just change one value, preview, see what changed, change another thing, preview, see what changed, did that for... well, let's just say more hours than I care to count, lol. But as I said I'm pretty happy with it, so I'll keep it Thank you again for the new link! (and sorry to ramble on so much!) Ariel♥Gold 05:04, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
- You have nothing to say sorry about, thank you for the reply, I'm looking up galaxyzoo.org but the site seems to be down, but slooh.com look very interesting I'm checking it out now thanks, anyways its good to come across other wikipedians of good cheer, speaking of space travel I hope Richard Branson give me a ticket to outerspace something I always dreamed of ▪◦▪≡ЅiREX≡Talk 05:19, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
- Hee hee yeah I'd love that ticket too! Slooh is really pretty cool, it lets you zoom in, and also you can get "dedicated" time on the telescope (small minute increments, but if you know exactly where you want to look, it can be really cool), and the commentary during the nightly events is really informative. I'll holler if I notice Galaxy Zoo being back up, but it is (well, was, hope it isn't down for good!) really nifty. Ariel♥Gold 05:27, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
- ok, thank you, I still use old school emoticon -:) , let me try one of these out not sure if it fit me ;-) anyways thank for your kindness and knowledge :-)▪◦▪≡ЅiREX≡Talk 05:54, 23 August 2007 (UTC)

Question about your user page
Hi, nice user page you have there. I was just wondering, do you use some tool or do you manually format it? and if so is there any on-line guides as how to do this? --Street Scholar 08:39, 7 September 2007 (UTC)
It was manually done taking bits and pieces of Cascading Style Sheets HTML_in_wikitext framed in table or nested tables, my userpage is no where as complex as other I've seen it rather simple it has a backgroud of blue and border of light blue with three elements of the Main_Page transcluded colored and nested in a table, there a userbox gallery that transcluded from a subpage as well as a Menu mostly made up of the click template a couple NavFrame with a few images and wikitext and thats about it, my best advice in trying to understand the code is just make a subpage personal sandbox and mess around with it, here is some further reading
Yep!
Thanks for fixing my userpage. That was exactly what I needed.
Have a well-deserved cute little barnstar for your efforts. - Mgm|(talk) 09:18, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
- You're welcome, anytime :) ▪◦▪≡ЅiREX≡Talk 17:35, 13 September 2007 (UTC)
thx..
for the welcome msg & the tip about wikibooks, will have a look there if I can place "broadway" there. --Elconejo 15:40, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
- Well Wikipedia, has a official policy called WP:NOT#DICT that fall under Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not, deep down I felt that there should be exceptions, as these terms are use all the time on television and other media, but in order to get policy changed it would most likely have to be brought up on the What Wikipedia is not talk page, one could make a WP:IAR argument but may be seen as WikiLawyering, see: WP:WIARM, the poker term broadway already exist on Wiktionary see: wikt:broadway so it may be viewed as a moot point as if the term is used in an article it could be interwiki linked to Wiktionary, see m:Help:Interwiki linking for information ▪◦▪≡ЅiREX≡Talk 21:36, 20 September 2007 (UTC)
WCOOP
Indeed I did remove first prize because it is rare that these events don't end in a chop. Granted the 1K hold'em just ended, so I'm not sure what first prize ended up being, but I can't possibly fathom the players not making a deal with that much money involved.
