Hi, all ! While reading the article, I didn't find one of the basic alternative gravitation theories, written by Oliver Heaviside at the end of the 19th century! This concerns the Maxwell-equivalence theory for gravitation, which, as you know, is considered as the closest theory to General Relativity. The theory can be written with vector analytics.
The importance of this theory becomes clear if you consider that also Einstein was experimenting with the theory but was insatisfied with the results for the Mercury perihelion problem.
In a few articles, see [1] I apply the theory rather successfully, for a large number of gravitational cases in the universe. Even for the Mercury problem, by considering our Milky Way as an actor, there is a simple plausible solution. The only change/correction to the Heaviside theory was: the correct definition of what is 'local' relative of absolute velocity.
The reason of my intervention is after all to propose the introduction of the Heaviside theory (at least mentionning it) in this part. Is this okay for you? pls reply to: thierrydm'at'pandora.be . Regards.
