User talk:Simply Orcas
Welcome!
[edit]Hello, Simply Shamu, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.
I noticed that one of the first articles you edited appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.
To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.
One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}}
before the question. Again, welcome! —C.Fred (talk) 20:55, 3 May 2017 (UTC)
Username concern
[edit]Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "Simply Shamu", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because Shamu is so closely linked to SeaWorld that your edits imply that you are editing on behalf of SeaWorld. A username that identifies you as an editor, not SeaWorld, is in order; editors may not use a company name as their username. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing this form, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you.
Additionally, if you are editing in a professional capacity for SeaWorld, you must disclose that you are a paid editor. —C.Fred (talk) 20:55, 3 May 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Vancouver Aquarium. Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism can result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Longhair\talk 02:56, 25 November 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Please stop adding unsourced content. This contravenes Wikipedia's policy on verifiability. If you continue to do so, you may be blocked from editing Wikipedia. 2601:188:180:11F0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 15:21, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
First off, there are no more behind the scenes or sea lions up close tour as noted on the parks website. Second, during the inside look event, they mentioned that there are 8 river otters in the amphitheater and his name is Frankie and Pellet the seal moved to Sea Lion Point since they have only 4 seals, 3 harbor, and 1 ringed. Finally, also during, the event, guests are able to visit the OWEN and bird breeding center. These are changed noted by sources aand if you have any concerns let me know. Thank you anonymous Simply Orcas (talk) 15:32, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
- I don't see that you've added any WP:RELIABLE sources to support your edits--without these, not only is the content open to question, but so is the encyclopedic relevance. Can you also confirm that you're not using several different accounts to edit, nor are associated with those accounts? 2601:188:180:11F0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 16:20, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
I am still relatively new to Wikipedia since I don't edit a lot. I never created another username nor plan to. The only source I can tell you is that I know the animal team in the park. Thank you. Simply Orcas (talk) 16:29, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
- That's WP:ORIGINAL, which is not allowed. Though I'd like to assume good faith, it's clear that multiple accounts are editing in a very similar fashion on the same article. 2601:188:180:11F0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 16:31, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
I will not contribute anymore to Wikipedia. Thanks for your assistance. Simply Orcas (talk) 16:42, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
- I think that's wise for now. The claim of being new holds no water--per the above warnings and reversions such as this [1], you've been made aware of these issues for well over half a year. 2601:188:180:11F0:65F5:930C:B0B2:CD63 (talk) 16:57, 30 January 2018 (UTC)
ArbCom 2018 election voter message
[edit]Hello, Simply Orcas. Voting in the 2018 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 3 December. All users who registered an account before Sunday, 28 October 2018, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Thursday, 1 November 2018 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.
The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
If you wish to participate in the 2018 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 18:42, 19 November 2018 (UTC)
