Please stop this bot from adding video game references to an article about a Military College. They are inappropriate links.--Vidkun (talk) 15:34, 17 October 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the feedback. This was caused by manually added incorrect links, but someone seems to have fixed them already. --Silvonen (talk) 15:34, 19 October 2008 (UTC)

Don't add the interwiki link to Horna. That page is for the city, not the band. The en. article is about the band, not the city. Undead Warrior (talk) 13:09, 31 October 2008 (UTC)

I just looked at the non-English language link nl:Horna, and I figured it out on my earlier issue with this bot: if you remove the link on the English version, but leave the link on the non-English version, it's going to get automatically re-added. So, when you remove the link FROM the English version TO the non-English version, you need to remove the link FROM the non-English version TO the English version, and ensure you do it on all the other non-English language pages, too.--Vidkun (talk) 13:46, 31 October 2008 (UTC)
Yes, the bot is only propagating any incorrect manually added links. I have now fixed the links on the page nl:Horna. --Silvonen (talk) 05:51, 1 November 2008 (UTC)

Interwiki to section

Edits like this one aren't really desirable imho. Interwikis to redirects are a good thing. If the redirect is turned into a full article on the target wiki, the interwiki will still be correct, whereas it would need to be updated if you make it point to where the redirect is pointing to. --dab (𒁳) 10:31, 2 March 2009 (UTC)

That is the default behaviour of the Python Wikipedia Framework, so most interwiki bots behave just like SilvonenBot. I don't know if this has been discussed previously, but changes can always be proposed in the tracker of the framework. --Silvonen (talk) 15:56, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Somebody reported this as bug 2685388 in the Pywikipedia bug tracker. Let's see what the developers think. --Silvonen (talk) 05:03, 13 March 2009 (UTC)
I came here to report the exact same problem. Be aware that *YOU* are responsible for your bots actions. You should not be asking others to have to report bugs to some third party, that is your job. If your bot is violating WP:R#NOTBROKEN (which it is), you need to review every change that it makes and reverts the ones that it is making incorrectly, or to stop running the bot. Wrs1864 (talk) 10:30, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for the feedback. I do feel responsible, and that's why I am participating in the bug discussion. But should interlanguage links be mentioned explicitly in WP:R#NOTBROKEN if it is meant to be applied to them, too? --82.181.68.190 (talk) 16:28, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
Oops, Wikipedia threw me out in the middle of writing the above comment. --Silvonen (talk) 16:31, 17 March 2009 (UTC)
I stopped running SilvonenBot in autonomous mode on the English Wikipedia, until this issue has been resolved. --Silvonen (talk) 05:28, 18 March 2009 (UTC)
I really don't see the problem. If an article is created with the proper name then the bots will pick up that new article and correct the interwiki. The guideline is just a guideline for people that are fixing redirects by hand. It is not proven that policies are broken. This is a feature and not a bug. Carsrac (talk) 21:06, 19 March 2009 (UTC)
As this is not an issue specific to SilvonenBot, I suggest that (a) I reactivate SilvonenBot and (b) we continue the discussion in the Pywikipedia tracker or on the Wikipedia:Bot owners' noticeboard. Meanwhile, we can add {{nobots}} on pages that shouldn't be edited by bots. --Silvonen (talk) 15:08, 21 March 2009 (UTC)

arz

  • Please! Do not move the interwiki of arz down. Keep it with the order of the ISO-code order. This bot has lately changed [[arz:ثيوقراطيه]] order in Theocracy. Please fix this error in your bot. --Mahmudmasri (talk) 05:57, 9 April 2009 (UTC)
Thank you for the feedback! However, the preferred sorting order on the English Wikipedia is by local language name, not by its ISO code (cf. Help:Interlanguage links#Sorting and meta:Interwiki sorting order). If you notice any errors in the sorting tables, we should propose a change on the page meta:Talk:Interwiki sorting order. --Silvonen (talk) 10:25, 9 April 2009 (UTC)

Please stop linking the finnish and spanish articles to the above page. Those lists relate to the Scotland national football team roll of honour, which is a separate distinction. Jmorrison230582 (talk) 07:45, 24 June 2009 (UTC)

Thank you for the feedback. There were still incorrect links on the other wikis, but I fixed them with SilvonenBot. --Silvonen (talk) 17:41, 24 June 2009 (UTC)
