Reverted edit in WIKIPEDIA: WikiProject Tree of Life

[edit]

You reverted an edit by me in WP: WikiProject Tree of Life;

if you read it, the edit is named "switching some things from left panel and main page", which typically means i made an edit on the /left panel sub-page as well, in which you did not revert the edit.

  1. I had removed the "Content: Sections §", which i myself created in the past, but believe no longer necessary
  2. I put uncommented because i believe that finding commented parts is difficult - I fixed the text align created by 2.
  3. I moved the "guides" from the left panel to the bottom of the main page - which means that through your edit, they no longer exist
  4. i moved information into the tables, such as article alerts; as i believe that is going along with the already existing structure, and to look similar in structure to other WPs,
  5. i moved the todo from the main page to the left panel subpage, to look similar in structure to other WPs, such as WP:microbiology - which means that it is duplicated through your edit

a) i believe 1. 3. 4, and 5 had nothing wrong with them, though 2. might have been wrong of me; do you have disagreements?

b) If you do have disagreements, should i revert my edit in WP:WikiProject Tree of Life/left panel as well?

If one is kept and one is reverted, whichever ones are, this will cause problems

I regularly use the Table of Contents that you removed, and the page is long enough that it is needed. Especially ever since you moved the Article Alerts so far down the page when that needs to be prominent. SilverTiger12 (talk) 01:34, 4 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
ah i see
could i just make a better TOC then?
i just think it looks a bit ugly. >>> Webcloudd@their-talk-page 02:18, 4 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
A choice is to put it on the right panel, it is still quite short compared to the left one
- it would be put at the top of the right panel so scrolling too much would be unnecessary
another choice is to make a horizontal table on top of the announcements >>> Webcloudd@their-talk-page 02:21, 4 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]

ArbCom 2024 Elections voter message

[edit]

Hello! Voting in the 2024 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23:59 (UTC) on Monday, 2 December 2024. All eligible users are allowed to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

If you wish to participate in the 2024 election, please review the candidates and submit your choices on the voting page. If you no longer wish to receive these messages, you may add {{NoACEMM}} to your user talk page. MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 00:40, 19 November 2024 (UTC)[reply]
