The article Matthew (Matt) Bennett has been proposed for deletion because under Wikipedia policy, all biographies of living persons created after March 18, 2010, must have at least one source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't take offense. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Wikipedia:Referencing for beginners or ask at Wikipedia:Help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. The article Matthew (Matt) Bennett has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Non-notable, does not meet WP:GNG

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Apologies

[edit]

I am deeply sorry that your article on Matthew (Matt) Bennett was tagged for deletion just one minute after it was created. Ideally, an editor looking at a new article is supposed to look and see if sources are available that could improve the article... and then if they ARE available (as is the case with Bennett), perhaps tag the article to request sources and then perhaps even contact the author (you) to offer sugestions for how to address concerns. Please know that unless the article was a blatant hoax or in some way libelous to the subject (neither circumstance existing for your article), proposing it for deletion without doing one's homework, and just one minute after its creation, is not the way things are supposed to work around here. So please check in on the article over the next few hours/days as I will myself bring it into line with Wikipedia expectations. And please feel welcome to enter the ongoing discussion taking place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Matthew (Matt) Bennett. Again, please accept my apology that others may have been hasty in their actions or judgements. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 06:43, 20 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

[edit]

Your note is very much appreciated. I admit I was shocked. Your additions, however, are remarkable, and they have greatly helped me understand the process. If there's anything else I can do to make the article better, please advise. (The NAME issue was one that confused me, as he is credited primarily as Matthew Bennett, and often as Matt Bennett, though there are two other actors with the same name on Wikipedia - if you suggest a change in the Matthew (Matt) Bennett NAME format, I will gladly take your advice.) Thank you sincerely --Silentcrow (talk) 04:56, 21 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
