If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on José Ramón Hinojosa Montalvo requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, you can contact one of these administrators to request that the administrator userfy the page or email a copy to you. aηsuмaη ༽Ϟ 20:11, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Status and Advice

[edit]

As reviewing admin, I think saying someone is a professor at a university indicates at least some importance, so not appropriate for speedy deletion. The relevant criteria for actual notability, however, are somewhat stronger: the person must meet either WP:PROF or WP:AUTHOR. Please add the necessary material.

In addition all biography of living persons articles must be sourced to reliable sources. A catalog record on the books, or the persons official univeristy page, is the place to start.

I apologize on behalf of /ww for the incorrect and overhasty placement of the deletion tag, but the article does need immediate improvememnt. I advise you to fix the problem, and do this very quickly, before the article gets nominated for deletion by a regular deletion process.

If I can help you further, let me know on my user talk page. DGG ( talk ) 23:28, 12 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The article José Ramón Hinojosa Montalvo has been proposed for deletion because, under Wikipedia policy, all newly created biographies of living persons must have at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within ten days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Hi! I've added one reference and removed the deletion tag but the article really needs expansion and better sourcing if it is to stay on Wikipedia. I've left a note about this on the article talk page. I suggest that you read the articles in the "Welcome" box above and also the guidelines for biographical articles of academics. If you have any questions about this, just post your query below this message and I will reply.--CharlieDelta (talk) 07:01, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Got your message, thank you. I strongly suggest that, when you want to add content to Wikipedia, you work up your content on this page or in a sandbox and check it very carefully before copying to a main-space article. Talk page and sandbox experimentation is a much safer and more private place to practise editing. Google translate tools are helpful for rough understanding but are generally not good enough for proper articles here.--CharlieDelta (talk) 08:51, 15 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]
