Welcome
[edit]Hello Sierra2008 and welcome to Wikipedia! I'm AndrewvdBK, one of the many editors of this great website. I've posted this just to give you some useful advice and help you to settle in. You'll find that Wikipedia is much more than just articles and that there are many areas in which you can help out.
If you want to create an article, I would suggest using the Article Wizard. It will guide you through what you should do to write a great first article. To learn more about editing articles, this page will tell you all you need to know. |
To learn more about the fundamental principles by which Wikipedia operates, read about the 5 Pillars of Wikipedia. They should help you to understand exactly what the website stands for. |
You may not want to jump straight into editing and writing articles, which is perfectly understandable. The Sandbox is available for anyone to experiment in. You can even create your own sandbox if you wish. |
If you want, you can upload images to Wikipedia. However, you will have to know about the image use policy if you are going to upload images. This is largely due to copyright issues, which Wikipedia takes very seriously. |
It is important to be civil at all times and to respect the views of other users. Etiquette is a fundamental part of Wikipedia. Remember, the success of Wikipedia is down to teamwork and cooperation. |
I hope you enjoy your time on Wikipedia - it can seem very confusing at times, but you'll find that most people are more than willing to help you if you need it. The longer you spend on Wikipedia, the more you'll learn about how it works. If you do need help, you can contact me by leaving a note on my talk page and I'll get back to you as soon as I can. Alternatively, you can add the code {{helpme}}
to your user page and someone will come along to offer you assistance.
One last thing - remember to sign all your posts by typing 4 tildes (~~~~). This automatically inserts your username and the time and date of the post.
Good luck and happy editing! AndrewvdBK (talk)
Updating stats in football players' infoboxes
[edit]Hi, could you please also update the the "pcupdate" or the "club-update" parameter when you update the stats in football players like you did in Mesut Özil or Iker Casillas? --Jaellee (talk) 22:40, 7 May 2011 (UTC)
Hello!
Yes, of course! :)
- Thanks a lot! --Jaellee (talk) 21:12, 16 May 2011 (UTC)
German club season articles
[edit]I noticed that you updated the stats in the Klaas-Jan Huntelaar article. Would you like to help update the stats in 2011–12 FC Schalke 04 season? Kingjeff (talk) 02:27, 18 December 2011 (UTC)
Hi! I don't follow the Schalke matches and the other players from the team. I only update Raúl and Huntelaar from Schalke. But thanks. :) --User:Sierra2008 (talk) 09:54, 19 December 2011 (UTC)
Just to clear this up
[edit]corecting again. Kante: if you can't update correctly, please do not edit Benzema and the other Real Madrid players WTF? Just because i made one mistake during yesterdays match is no reason to react like that. I edit whatever and whenever i want to, like those Statistics for Real players, so this comments is really not needed. You can fix a mistake, no problem with that. Kante4 (talk) 21:18, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
That wasn't the first time. You edit the parameters, but don't count the total matches or goals. And if you don't check the mistakes, then the article will be bad and nobody fix it. --HALA MADRID! (talk) 23:39, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
But I'm sorry, i was angry, because some fucking anyonymus user makes so many mistakes in the articles, and i hate them. --HALA MADRID! (talk) 23:39, 11 January 2012 (UTC)
- I always edit the parameter (if it is a league match) and scroll down to edit the statistics for the club, season, total and career total. Not my fault if some IP Users change that, don´t keep track on that! Kante4 (talk) 17:52, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
Yes, this is true, it's not your fault. You are a good guy, at least you update all parameters, and i like it. But sometimes you update the numbers, but you don't check it out if that is wrong.
So I'm sorry for that, i was nervous, but you are a good guy, you update the players correct. But sometimes please check out the numbers, that later the statistics won't be incorrect. (sorry for my bad english)
I hope you don't hate me for that. ;) --HALA MADRID! (talk) 18:15, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
- All cool, was just upset you said it would be the case everytime, that was what i didn´t like but it´s solved now. And if i make mistakes (and i do) go ahead and fix them, no problem with that. Kante4 (talk) 22:38, 12 January 2012 (UTC)
Okay, then everything all right. :) But i don't understand, why HALA MADRID is my signature. :D Because my user name is Sierra2008. :D --HALA MADRID! (talk) 02:08, 13 January 2012 (UTC)
Your invitation to participate in a Wikimedia-approved survey in online behavior.
[edit]Hello, my name is Michael Tsikerdekis[1][2], currently involved as a student in full time academic research at Masaryk University. I am writing to you to kindly invite you to participate in an online survey about interface and online collaboration on Wikipedia. The survey has been reviewed and approved by the Wikimedia Foundation Research Committee.
I am contacting you because you were randomly selected from a list of active editors. The survey should take about 7 to 10 minutes to complete, and it is very straightforward.
Wikipedia is an open project by nature. Let’s create new knowledge for everyone! :-)
To take part in the survey please follow the link: tsikerdekis.wuwcorp.com/pr/survey/?user=17945821 (HTTPS).
Best Regards, Michael Tsikerdekis (talk) 09:11, 5 February 2012 (UTC)
PS: The results from the research will become available online for everyone and will be published in an open access journal.
Hello! I filled out the survey, I hope I help you! :) --HALA MADRID! (talk) 09:21, 5 February 2012 (UTC)
- Awesome! Thank you very much :-) Michael Tsikerdekis (talk) 11:18, 6 February 2012 (UTC)
Hi, please do not undo my edits without an explanation. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mythical Curse (talk • contribs) 19:19, 10 March 2012 (UTC)
Hi, please do the updates correctly. You changed only the goals, but the number of matches didn't. And that is, why I undo your edit.
Because the match hadn't finished yet, but I agree it was stupid logic on my part. You need to explain edits though. I was going to change it after the game. Mythical Curse (talk) 10:41, 12 March 2012 (UTC).

The Black Dahlia Murder (band) article
[edit]Stop blanking genres on the above page, or a Wikipedia administrator will be notified. The information you disagree with is corroborated by reliable, published sources, and blanking information as you have done on the above page does indeed constitute a form of vandalism on Wikipedia. As an FYI, the article was semi-protected by an administrator to deter the very thing you're doing: blanking genres. -Danteferno (talk) 01:21, 21 October 2012 (UTC)
