Ldm1954 (talk) 14:33, 13 October 2023 (UTC)Tenley M. Conway moved to draftspace
[edit]Thanks for your contributions to Tenley M. Conway. Unfortunately, I do not think it is ready for publishing at this time because it needs more sources to establish notability and as none of the sources provide significant coverage of the subject. Please see the general and professor-specific notability policies for what is required. I have converted your article to a draft which you can improve, undisturbed for a while.
Please see more information at Help:Unreviewed new page. When the article is ready for publication, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page OR move the page back. UtherSRG (talk) 15:23, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
- I accepted your draft, but it seems that UtherSRG decided to reverse this, for reasons that he did not explain. I do not agree with him. While she is on the edge, Assoc Chair + h-factor 29 + the editorial boards put her over IMHO. I noted that 29 is a massive subject-decomposed number, see h-index. In Geography the typical h-factor for a full Prof is 6.5. In Chemistry, for instance, she would not be notable enough. I decline most academic WP:AFC, not this one.
- If he does not provide an explanation I will seek a third opinion. Fell free to go ahead with edits in the interim. Ldm1954 (talk) 19:53, 13 October 2023 (UTC)
- I did supply an explanation:

- UtherSRG (talk) 13:16, 14 October 2023 (UTC)- I completely disagree with you. As already stated, in my professional opinion she is notable. (She is probably an academic target of opportunity, but I am not involved in that.) Since I am contesting your opinion, please provide specifics. There must always be a requirement for reviewers to validate their statements. Ldm1954 (talk) 13:25, 14 October 2023 (UTC)
- I did supply an explanation:
- To Siaham. I have gone over your draft more carefully, correcting numerous errors including quite a few statements which were not correct. For instance, you had as awards minor things such as a "NASA-MSU Professional Enhancement Award", which is a $700 award to attend a confernce according to https://www.canr.msu.edu/csis/education/nasa_msu_award/index. I was fooled by what was included, I am reversing my opinion and I now agree with UtherSRG. While her h-factor is strong, and she has had senior positions, without a major award or two she does not quite make it. If you prepare any future articles please pay more attention to what you are including. Ldm1954 (talk) 18:17, 16 October 2023 (UTC)
The article Matthew D. Adams has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Associate prof with some relatively early career awards. Not convinced meets WP:NPROF.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Kj cheetham (talk) 14:25, 21 December 2023 (UTC)
