HELP! Need Hindi translations
I've been working a little on the Indian Space Research Organisation page, and noticed that the name is not given in Hindi (or any other Indian language for that matter). While I understand that English is the de-facto language of Indian science, I think it important that ISRO's name be translated into Hindi in the opening sentence of that article. I do not speak a word of Hindi (though I hope to rectify that after I complete my studies in Arabic and Mandarin Chinese), but this bugs me to no end (especially considering the Devanagari abbreviation in the logo). Could you kindly translate "Indian Space Research Organisation" into Hindi, with the Hindi abbreviation and a suitable (e.g. IAST) transliteration? Thank you! You wrote: "Articles should be of good quality. There are some articles, which do not qualify to be selected, like, Old St Paul's Cathedral, St Thomas the Martyr's Church, Oxford."
Both of those articles have passed GA. A good article is called a good article because by definition it has been reviewed and has been determined to be of good quality. Why on earth would you claim they dont qualify for the portal? You also never addressed my response to your first comments. -- Secisek (talk) 11:08, 4 April 2008 (UTC)
Image licensing
Hi, why did you added cc-by-sa-2.5 on this image? Did you contacted the author of image? If you contacted the author of image and the author agrees to license under cc-by-sa-2.5 you must add this information on image description. Cheers. Carlosguitar (Yes Executor?) 12:02, 9 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hi Carlosguitar, I was new to Wikipedia at that time. I misinterpreted the author's quote. It can go for speedy-deletion. Sorry for the inconvenience. Thanks for making me aware of the incident. Regards, Shyam (T/C) 12:30, 9 April 2008 (UTC)

Hi. I've attempted to edit the above article down to source-able, encyclopedic information. I'd love you to find sources for some of the stuff I've pulled out, though, and you seem to be the main contributor to the article...--Shannonr (talk) 13:15, 9 June 2008 (UTC)
- Shannonr, the source mentioned by you has informATION from the Wikipedia page. The information provided is true, but sometimes it is hard to find online sources to verify the information. If I came across any related sources to verify, then I will add them to the Wikipedia page. I am going to revert the page, edited by you. Thanks, Shyam (T/C) 10:20, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
- It seems to me that to be "encyclopedic", information has to jump a number of bars. One of those bars is, clearly, notability. One of the ways to judge the notability of information is the ease of which one finds references to it. By your own assessment, this festival simply does not meet that requirement. I tried to edit it down to simply "the notable" -- but you disagree. That's your prerogative. By anyone's assessment of the basic rules of English grammar, the article is also severely deficient. And again, I tried to whip it into shape. But clearly this is just "your word against mine" -- so I'm not going to be a dick about it. If you think the article represents what Wikipedia is all about, then, respectfully, I must disagree, but I'm not going to edit war you on it! I'm here to make improvements, not to fight pointless battles about what is and isn't notable. Best of luck to you! --Shannonr (talk) 10:42, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

LS Constituency lowercase
Hi, I have created several articles on Lok Sabha constituencies. You have created stubs for most MPs of the 14th LS with links to the constituency. However the links for most are incorrect because of the uppercase (Constituency) as compared to the lowercase used for the article (constituency). Could you pls check/recorrect the links in your articles? Perhaps you could use a bot? Salilb (talk) 09:47, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
- Hi Salilb, these days, I am less active. Will you please have a look over it, if possible? Most of the contributions regarding this come around September 25, 2006. Thanks much, Shyam (T/C) 10:56, 17 June 2008 (UTC)

Mediation requested at Jerusalem
Hello Shyam, Hope you're well. Having trouble over at Jeruslem, as is often the case. In particular, I have raised the issue that the history headings have recently been reflecting a purely Israeli POV to the exclusion to the Palestinian POV on the matter. It 'began' with multiple deletions of historical facts of concern to Palestinians. But I won't deal with that here. The main issue is the title of a heading under the history section, which has been altered to read: "1967 War and unification" and the discussion of the matter is here. I am happy with "1967 War" or "1967 War, unification, and annexation of East Jerusalem." However, the term "unification" in the absence of "annexation" biases the heading towards exclusively Israeli POV. However, I have recently been the main person arguing this point of view (one arguing the same point as myself has left wikipedia due to incivility, and the Palestinian editors seem to have fled after a recent FA review lacking any resolution yet de-tagged nevertheless). 2 or 3 of the other pro-Zionist editors on the page (I am myself Israeli) have changed the heading repeatedly to "1967- Unification" or, "Division and Unification." I do not dispute that the city was unified, but am arguing that in isolation, the term 'unified' in this case has political ramifications which deny the annexation aspect of the unification. I feel that if the title is to read "unification" it should also read "annexation" so as to represent both Israeli and Palestinian POVs, otherwise, the title most preferred on my end is a politically neutral one, simply, "1967 War." This simple heading is all that is really needed to help orient the uninitated reader to the chronology and allow them to sort out the significance of the event for themselves. I made a similar argument above, re: calling the "1948 War" the "War of Independence." Please excuse the length of this message, I have never requested mediation before and I thought I'd help orient you as much as I can a complex dispute as best I can, before you visit the links further! Thanks for any help you can render. Best, LamaLoLeshLa (talk) 04:35, 23 July 2008 (UTC)
- Could you visit my talkpage when you get a chance, just so that I know what you think of playing a role as mediator in this matter? If you're not willing I'd like to bring someone else in. Thanks much, LamaLoLeshLa (talk) 18:56, 24 July 2008 (UTC)

Speedy deletion of Sourabh Bandekar
A tag has been placed on Sourabh Bandekar requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the subject's importance or significance may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies.
