Dog/wolf

[edit]

Please stop changing "dog" to "wolf" in cartoon characters' infoboxes. "Species" in this context is meant to be a general description, not taxonomically rigorous. Trivialist (talk) 17:08, 29 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

is it okay if I say it like this: Wolf(Dog) Shurubel (talk) 17:55, 29 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

we need a better alternative than species Shurubel (talk) 17:56, 29 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

how about "animal type"? Shurubel (talk) 17:57, 29 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

"Wolf (Dog)" is confusing, especially on, say, Pluto (Disney), and is needlessly pedantic. You may want to try suggesting your change from "species" to "animal type" at Template talk:Infobox character. Trivialist (talk) 18:33, 29 December 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm William Harris. Your recent edit(s) to the page Dog appear to have added incorrect information, so they have been removed for now. If you believe the information was correct, please cite a reliable source or discuss your change on the article's talk page. Species includes both plants and animals. The dog was domesticated long before agriculture, therefore it was the first species to be domesticated. William Harristalk 11:30, 14 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]
