- Do a search on Google or your preferred search engine for the subject of the Wikipedia article that you want to create a citation for.
- Find a website that supports the claim you are trying to find a citation for.
- In a new tab/window, go to the citation generator, click on the 'An arbitrary website' bubble, and fill out as many fields as you can about the website you just found.
- Click the 'Get reference wiki text' button.
- Highlight, and then copy (Ctrl+C or Apple+C), the resulting text (it will be something like
<ref> {{cite web | .... }}</ref>
, copy the whole thing). - In the Wikipedia article, after the claim you found a citation for, paste (Ctrl+V or Apple+V) the text you copied.
- If the article does not have a References or Notes section (or the like), add this to the bottom of the page, but above the External Links section and the categories:
==References== {{Reflist}}

[edit]Hello, I'm Doug Weller. I noticed that you added or changed content in an article, Gujarat Files, but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so. You can have a look at referencing for beginners. If you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Doug Weller talk 16:18, 15 March 2022 (UTC)
Misrepresenting edit and source
[edit] Hi Shrish Das! I noticed that you recently marked an edit as minor at Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 that may not have been. "Minor edit" has a very specific definition on Wikipedia – it refers only to superficial edits that could never be the subject of a dispute, such as typo corrections or reverting obvious vandalism. Any edit that changes the meaning of an article is not a minor edit, even if it only concerns a single word. Please see Help:Minor edit for more information. Adding "Being beaten by Hindus was complete humiliating as it was perception in Pakistan that hindus are weak and filthy" is not a minor edit.
Moreover, the words "humiliating" and "filthy" misrepresent what the source actually says. --Worldbruce (talk) 16:57, 22 May 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Packer&Tracker. I noticed that you recently removed content from First Battle of Tarain without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. How can you or we predict that someone fought with bravery or not, 900 years back in 1191. Only Things that Historians know that who were victorious and what tactic they use in battle. There no citation or references regarding this. We can't comment on bravery or cowardice. Shrish Das (talk) 02:16, 21 July 2022 (UTC)

[edit]Hello. Your recent edit to Darbhanga appears to have added a non-notable entity to a list that normally includes only notable entries. In general, a person, organization or product added to a list should have a pre-existing article before being added to most lists. If you wish to create such an article, please first confirm that the subject qualifies for a separate, stand-alone article according to Wikipedia's notability guideline. Thank you. - Arjayay (talk) 16:47, 29 September 2024 (UTC)
