One day in September

...Simon Reeve's book was published by Faber and Faber which is about as good as it gets. The International Herald Tribune described the book as: "A masterclass in investigative journalism", saying it "brilliantly recaptures the tension of the day, as well as the human cost of the botched police operation."(BBC) Are you sure your removal is valid. If so I think it should go to RSN. Sean.hoyland - talk 06:27, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

This source says there were 200 plo members "http://books.google.co.il/books?id=hohspDWqzjwC&pg=PA135" I think the truth is somewhere in beetween becouse Reeve didn't check who really was killed he who took this claim from somewhere else and this a reason that we need a scholarly source for such claims.--Shrike (talk)/WP:RX 06:32, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
And here is a scholarly source that says there were terrorist [1]--Shrike (talk)/WP:RX 06:37, 1 August 2012 (UTC)
So we have sources that range between 200 innocent people (which doesn't rule out PLO membership) including women and children to 200 terrorists. Great... More work needed methinks. Also, Reeve is used very extensively as a source in that article, via his book and other articles, sometimes with attribution, sometimes without. If he is not an RS the article will need a major rewrite. I think it needs to go to RSN. Sean.hoyland - talk 06:57, 1 August 2012 (UTC)

ARBPIA warning

You just saw a request to notify Activism1234 rejected. But since you feel that way, I'll notify Activism and Crystalfile myself. That sound good? No, I didnt think it would. See for example Tim's comments in the Dailycare case, the notification is for administrators to say that a user's conduct has been problematic. It isnt for you. Remove that "notification", you are not an admin and acting like one is itself disruptive behavior. nableezy - 14:11, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

I don't have time to search a history ask Sean he have commented on this clarification too. AGK made special parameter for non-admins[2].You of course can warn anyone you want but the abuse of the template could be considered disruptive.--Shrike (talk)/WP:RX 14:15, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

See here. nableezy - 14:19, 9 August 2012 (UTC)

Problems with your RX template

Evidently, quite a number of people accidentally thought your template is a message. It creates quite a bit of confusion. OhanaUnitedTalk page 02:46, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

So what to do?--Shrike (talk)/WP:RX 04:47, 14 August 2012 (UTC)

resource request: choice

Hi Shrike,

I was able to get a scan of the book review you requested from the journal CHOICE. You can download the article here. Please let me know when you've downloaded successfully and I'll remove the link. GabrielF (talk) 21:29, 21 August 2012 (UTC)

Removal of Petite Meller page

Hello shrike, Please do not remove this page, we have many references for this page (Another Magazine, Filler Magazine, Liberation) and are presently looking for the links. We did not know that we should not have deleted the initial message that was posted by wikipedia on the article. in addition: This is the first time a RELIABLE wikipedia page will be created for her as already on 2 occasions in the past her page on wikipedia was done unappropriately. 1. She has a page someone formed for her in a dialect of German with material that is untrue/not updated. This page is presently blocked: http://ksh.wikipedia.org/wiki/Petite_Meller 2. In the past a hacker by the name of Nimrod Kamer had posted a page bearing her name, this page and all pages he created have been terminated. Finally we are presently in the process of adding a reference to this article as wikipedia had asked of us. Petite Meller is an international singer-songwriter, formed and led the band Terry Poison, and presently working as a soloist. She has opened for such acts as Depeche Mode, Bjork, and Mark Ronson. Hope for your understanding, Wishing you the best, Asaf Tom Mann (talk) 18:39, 22 August 2012 (UTC)Asaf Tom Mann

Talkback

Hello, Shrike. You have new messages at WilliamH's talk page.
Message added 18:59, 22 August 2012 (UTC). You can remove this notice at any time by removing the {{Talkback}} or {{Tb}} template.

August 2012

You have been blocked indefinitely from editing for editing in highly controversial areas and not able to demonstrate competence while exhausting community's patience, as per [3]. If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding below this notice the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first. OhanaUnitedTalk page 18:52, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
There doesn't seem to be anything even close to a consensus for this at ANI. I've asked for a second opinion there. No More Mr Nice Guy (talk) 19:13, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
Thanks--Shrike (talk)/WP:RX 19:13, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
The discussion at ANI is almost overwhelmingly in favor of the block/ban being lifted. I expect it to be resolved in the next day or so. And, if you ever want any help in copyediting, let me know. My "comments" sometime read worse than those of many who speak English as a second language, because I often compose them on the keyboard, but I am rather a bit better at grammatical articles. I hope anyway. John Carter (talk) 22:03, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
Thank you--Shrike (talk)/WP:RX 03:57, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
  • I have unblocked you. There was no clear consensus that blocking was appropriate and the follow up discussion unanimously agreed that it was a bad block. However, I would counsel you to take on board all that was said there, and to consider some sort of voluntary editing restriction in order to prevent further issues of this nature. Beeblebrox (talk) 22:37, 28 August 2012 (UTC)
I certainly will and I was intended to do this anyway regarding editing restriction I promise I will be more careful with my editing--Shrike (talk)/WP:RX 03:57, 29 August 2012 (UTC)

Grammar

Hey Shrike,

In order to avoid future problems, would you perhaps like me to fix any grammar mistakes I notice in comments that you write on talk pages or Wikipedia?

Thanks. --Activism1234 16:21, 29 August 2012 (UTC)

Thank you I will appreciate it.--Shrike (talk)/WP:RX 16:26, 29 August 2012 (UTC)
This is also a copy vio - "The suit charged that the Israeli military had been responsible for Rachel's death and that it had failed to conduct a full and open investigation." I do not know what to do about these reocurring violations? Ankh.Morpork 11:17, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
There are Wikipedia:Contributor_copyright_investigations--Shrike (talk)/WP:RX 11:20, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
Please see "when she entered an olive grove to retrieve the body of a young Palestinian man killed by a sniper's bullet; an Irish peace activist named Jenny was nearly run down by a D9.", an almost exact copy of this source. I am involved in a dispute with this editor so do not wish to exacerbate matters. Ankh.Morpork 11:42, 31 August 2012 (UTC)
