[edit]Thanks for the message, I think your original question has been answered at the New Contributors' Help Page. – ukexpat (talk) 03:12, 9 November 2009 (UTC)

- I have removed the text you posted on my talk page as it is not the appropriate place for you to create an article. I have put the text in a subpage for you at User:Shrappers/John Shrapnell. Even though the text at http://nzonscreen.com/person/john-shrapnell/biography is released under the CC license, you should consider rewriting it in your own words, bearing in mind the following: WP:BIO, WP:RS and WP:YFA. – ukexpat (talk) 03:13, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
- Also WP:NPOV; the current piece is too bloody cute and worshipful. --Orange Mike | Talk 14:04, 13 November 2009 (UTC)
- It's looking a little better after the recent edits and I made a few more to comply with the Manual of Style. However, it still needs some in-line citations, please see WP:CITE. Also, many of the internal Wikilinks point to articles that are not relevant to this article, so those will have to be edited so that they refer to the correct link or de-linked so that the article isn't a sea of redlinks. – ukexpat (talk) 21:52, 16 November 2009 (UTC)
- I have made a few more formatting and layout edits. I think it can be moved to the mainspace, and I am happy to do that for you, let me know. I think the article's titles should be John Shrapnel (New Zealand actor).— Preceding unsigned comment added by Ukexpat (talk • contribs)
- John, because of the difference in spelling, the mainspace title should be just John Shrapnell, with a "not to be confused with" hatnote on each article referring to the other. I'll do the move and you will see what I mean. – ukexpat (talk) 22:14, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
- We'll need admin help to move the page so I will make a request at WP:RM, stay tuned. – ukexpat (talk) 22:16, 22 November 2009 (UTC)
- Done. See John Shrapnell and John Shrapnel. - ukexpat (talk) 14:06, 23 November 2009 (UTC)
Images
[edit]Thanks for the message. If you own the copyright to the images, please upload them to Commons, by going to this page: commons:Upload, selecting the "It is entirely my own work" link and following the instructions to fill in the form and upload the image. It is particularly important to select the "Multi-license with CC-BY-SA3.0 and GDFL (recommended)" option from the License drop down list. When the file is uploaded to Commons, it can be used on Wikipedia with the [[File:filename.jpg]] code and its various options described at WP:IMAGE. Hope this helps - I know it sounds complicated but copyrights are a tricky subject. Let me know if you need help. – ukexpat (talk) 21:22, 30 November 2009 (UTC)
- I added thumbnail code to the image link in accordance with standard practice. – ukexpat (talk) 15:58, 5 December 2009 (UTC)
