A tag has been placed on Largest Therapods, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article providing no content to the reader. Please note that external links, "See also" section, book reference, category tag, template tag, interwiki link, rephrasing of the title, or an attempt to contact the subject of the article don't count as content. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Varanus salvadorii

[edit]

Next time, discuss it when you move the page. It had been decided before that it should be at a scientific name in light of its numerous common names. Also, it is not listed by IUCN. bibliomaniac15 04:47, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Why have you listed so many species as listed by the IUCN when they have not? bibliomaniac15 04:57, 28 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much for your help in improving Wikipedia. As you can see, I have added the taxonomy to the article. Don't hesitate to complete it if you have the time! Thanks! -- lucasbfr talk 12:38, 6 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. The recent edit you made to Grey Red-Backed Vole has been reverted, as it appears to be unconstructive. Use the sandbox for testing; if you believe the edit was constructive, please ensure that you provide an informative edit summary. You may also wish to read the introduction to editing. Thank you. Please do not remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Cuban green anole, without resolving the problem that the template refers to, or giving a valid reason for the removal in the edit summary. Your removal of this template does not appear constructive, and has been reverted. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 00:19, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, articles should not be moved, as you did to Mediterranean gecko, without good reason. They need to have a name that is both accurate and intuitive. We have some guidelines in place to help with this. Generally, a page should only be moved to a new title if the current name doesn't follow these guidelines. Also, if a page move is being discussed, consensus needs to be reached before anybody moves the page. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Please do not vandalize pages, as you did with this edit to Anolis. If you continue to do so, you will be blocked from editing. Jake WartenbergTalk 01:49, 14 January 2009 (UTC) Wanted to use the bark anole subspecies on the new Bark anole page[reply]

Moving pages

[edit]

Please do not move Latin named pages to common-name pages with animals that have a multitude of the same names. Please discuss any moves on the talk page or project page beforehand.--Mike - Μολὼν λαβέ 01:52, 14 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please fix this page as noted therein. Bearian (talk) 18:54, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I was WP:BOLD and fixed some of the issues. Bearian (talk) 19:01, 16 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Categorisation

[edit]

Greetings, great to see all your articles, but could you please be sure to add a category to each one? If you don't, they get dumped in WP:UNCAT, and people that need them might not find them. MatthewVanitas (talk) 06:02, 20 January 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions to the Reef Gecko article, but for legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted.

You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must include on the external site the statement "I, (name), am the author of this article, (article name), and I release its content under the terms of the GNU Free Documentation License, Version 1.3 and later."

You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question at the "Help Desk". You can also leave a message on my talk page. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 05:07, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Capitalization

[edit]

Hey chief, please read Wikipedia:Naming_conventions_(fauna)#Capitalisation_of_common_names_of_species before altering any articles with animal common names. This is an encyclopaedia, not a scientific journal. Thanks. StevePrutz (talk)

Hey, thanks for your recent edits on D&D-related articles.  :) Have you had a chance to check out the resources we have at the D&D WikiProject? Thanks again, and happy editing. :) BOZ (talk) 02:38, 4 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Notice

The article Metallic dragon has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fictional creature, no evidence of passing WP:NFICTION/GNG, PRIMARY sources only, pure WP:PLOT, BEFORE does not show better sources.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
