[edit]Hello, I'm Kosack. I noticed that you made a change to an article, Peter Gregory (footballer), but you didn't provide a reliable source. It's been removed and archived in the page history for now, but if you'd like to include a citation and re-add it, please do so! If you need guidance on referencing, please see the referencing for beginners tutorial, or if you think I made a mistake, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. I'm his manager, www.pd90.com and we have updated the wiki page.
- Listing every match a player features in is simply not encyclopaedic content and in violation of WP:NOTSTATS, not to mention the addition of the teams he trialled with were also completely unsourced. I suggest you read WP:COI if you have a financial interest in the subject of an article and do not tell other users not to edit a page, Wikipedia is a collaborative project and not a space to promote a client. Not everything is made public in professional sport, you may not understand that, however, here are some links that do confirm test, trials etc for 3 of the clubs.
Test and Trials:
DC UNITED: https://www.dcunited.com/es/post/2013/05/21/tuesday-training-notes BURSASPOR: http://sporcope.com/bursaspor-destah-haciya-peter-gregory-ikilisini-idmana-cikartti-108019 GALATASARAY: http://www.sabah.com.tr/spor/futbol/2015/08/14/peter-gregory-galatasaray-idmaninda#
I have made every effort to list game history correctly. Many of those games I listed are seen here - https://vimeo.com/pgplus44/collections and a clip breakdown here: https://vimeo.com/63865188 and https://vimeo.com/65458776
I have a factual interest here, and deleting fact should also be against policy.
- You say deleting fact should be against policy, yet your edit had no supporting sources to back up anything you added so there is nothing to prove it actually happened, which is specifically against WP:VERIFIABILITY and WP:RS. The onus is on you to support the information you add with reliable sources. If you can't find a reliable source to back up any information then it shouldn't be included. If you have a source, then by all means include it with the information in complete sentences describing the trials and not indiscriminate lists.
- In regards to a list of matches he has played, this is completely against WP:NOTSTATS and WP:FOOTBALL guidelines. Wikipedia is an encyclopaedia, not a sports almanac. Kosack (talk) 16:19, 25 June 2017 (UTC)
So on one hand you want proof then other showing him in a game isnt valid proof????
No worries. We will simply NOT use wiki going forward.
- What? Notable events in a persons life should be listed with reliable sources, a list of matches someone has played in however is not encyclopaedic content. Kosack (talk) 17:04, 25 June 2017 (UTC)
Which is why i provided video evidence...no worries. we wont use wiki...
- Like I've said on two occasions, this is an encyclopaedia not a game-by-game analysis of a player's career. His statistics are listed in the infobox and a stats table could be included also but listing every game someone plays in is against guidelines and complete overkill. Threats of leaving Wikipedia because you don't get your own way is rather irrelevant as well considering we're all here voluntarily. Kosack (talk) 19:07, 25 June 2017 (UTC)
