Speedy deletion nomination of PK Cards
[edit]A tag has been placed on PK Cards, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the guidelines on spam as well as Wikipedia:FAQ/Business for more information. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}}
to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. The article Pk cards has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
- nothing to show this is notable
While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. mark nutley (talk) 16:28, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
References
[edit]You can't show notability by referring to a company site. References must be outside ones for this purpose - extra info can come from inside ones but not notability. No blogs or anything self-published either. Peridon (talk) 19:46, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
- Still no independent reliable references, so I've put tag back on. Please don't remove it until there are the required references. Peridon (talk) 21:47, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
- Please post an example of what you are talking about.. My Referance is me walking in the PK Cards Front door and interviewing the staff of this company. How do I show that? —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.219.175.165 (talk) 23:03, 21 April 2010 (UTC)
- Basically, you need INDEPENDENT sources. The New York Times might have an article on PK Cards. (They may not - up to you to find the stuff...) If you interview the staff, that's Original Research WP:OR and if that is all there is, the article is likely to go. Wikipedia is for reporting stuff backed up by others, not for publishing one's own research. If you use the company site, that's not independent. Blogs, forums and so on are not reliable sources because they are too easily created by anyone - and may not be independent. Wikipedia is not usable because it can be edited by anyone. A reference should be more than just a passing mention. Press releases are no good, as they are very obviously not reliable and independent. With a fairly new business, it's not always easy. You need to get on Google or wherever, and learn to reject the obviously bloggy things, and spot the places like aboutus and LinkedIn which are also editable from outside. Hope this makes things clearer. Peridon (talk) 10:09, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
- I've put the tag back - someone else might find something if it's there. It's not a deletion tag - more an appeal for help to save the article. On the other hand, if an unreferenced tag stays too long, it can mean that no-one can find the necessary. It tells people that work is being done, as well. So please leave it up until the refs are found. Peridon (talk) 10:13, 22 April 2010 (UTC)

- The Gaming Angels ref looks a bit better - but I'm not sure about the status there. Is it a review by their staff or a sort of submit a review place? Scrye is no longer accessible, I think, but the review from there is possibly helpful too. Once again, I'm not sure of status. Could do with a gamer helping here - no, not you, an independent Wikipedian gamer. (Yes, there are, but I can't remember who.) My brain is not working at full capacity because of a bad cold. Peridon (talk) 20:04, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
- PS You might think I'm being hard on you. I'm actually trying to help you to save the article from a second deletion. (Don't ask me why - I just get these moments...) Peridon (talk) 20:06, 22 April 2010 (UTC)
I am working on more sources, the Scrye was a printed artical. I dont feel your being hard, I am working hard on making this a lagit section to wikipedia. The Scrye Issue it was printed in was Issue #128 Jan.2009. The Scrye is a very well know gaming source so I feel it is valad. I was looking on the Magic: the Gathering section and I didn't see anything credible other then there own printed material. Maybe if you point out what is credible int thier section I can see better what you are looking for. --Shiznit1994b (talk) 14:41, 23 April 2010 (UTC)

So a well respected Magazine is not a reliable source??? The only thing I have not done is cut and paste right from these Print articles.. I would like to also note that Magic the Gathering’s Page has NO content from any source other then what is printed from their Company!
The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Pk cards (2nd nomination) until a consensus is reached, and anyone, including you, is welcome to contribute to the discussion.
