Allies of World War II

[edit]

Just deleted some junk that I thought was obvious vandalism. I suppose I should have said that in the Edit Summary. - Doctorx0079 (talk) 20:27, 2 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Re: The Labor Split III - an offer you can't refuse

[edit]

Lol, I'll do what I can. This isn't my area of expertise though. I was listening to Kim Edward Beazley's memoirs (narrated by his son) that I received as part of the second prize for a quiz night, and I kept on coming across this Alan Reid fellow ... so I thought he *needed* a Wikipedia article! Graham87 11:55, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, why did ya do that? Graham87 12:41, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Apologee-ies?. It was was an obvious mistake on my part?. I'll fix it up if you don't get in first? --Shirt58 (talk) 13:06, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Fixed, before I found your message. Graham87 13:09, 4 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]
No worries mate, I've done that plenty of times before. Graham87 12:54, 5 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Cheers. Didn't mean to step on your toes, but did look like it could do with a cleaner scan. --jjron (talk) 09:43, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Trust me, my toes are completely unscathed. I sometimes review my contributions and think, hmm, I really should fix some of the book cover pix I've uploaded, but due to my short attention span am easily distracted and... ooh, just Googled up a new reliable reference for Hevisaurus! Oops, sorry, what was the question?--Shirt58 (talk) 10:29, 6 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Vagrancy (people)

[edit]

My edit summary was hardly misleading, it was lazy and empty, but the edit was hardly nonconstructive as it removed a very biased, unsourced (the only source were for statistics counterproductive to the arguement). 174.112.18.193 (talk) 03:10, 7 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The article Bryce Retzlaff has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

late round draft pick with no senior games

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. duffbeerforme (talk) 11:05, 8 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

"notes" section for image files on commons?

[edit]

Hey all,
The article Genesis Suite currently has a number of "see copy in the commons" mentions. Those mentions have been arguably adequately referenced in the main referencing of the article; what is needed is link/s to those commons files. So, how do I do this? {{helpme}}--Shirt58 (talk) 13:10, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Shirt58. You can pipe a link to the commons images referred to. To pipe a link directly to a commons media file without having the file display, you simply need to prefix a colon in the link code. So, for example, where it says in the article currently "see copy in the commons", you might change this to "see [[:File:exact name file|copy in the commons]]". I assume all of the images of the documents are in the Commons category for Genesis Suite. Here I am attempting to provide a mechanical solution to your question, but I'm not 100% sure the article's in-text referral to these images is the best way to go.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 13:30, 10 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Bryce Retzlaff for deletion

[edit]

A discussion has begun about whether the article Bryce Retzlaff, which you created or to which you contributed, should be deleted. While contributions are welcome, an article may be deleted if it is inconsistent with Wikipedia policies and guidelines for inclusion, explained in the deletion policy.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Bryce Retzlaff until a consensus is reached, and you are welcome to contribute to the discussion.

You may edit the article during the discussion, including to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion template from the top of the article. Shirt58 (talk) 12:18, 13 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Not sure how to talk back! Moner Manush was my first article and i'm still trying to figure this out. Thanks a ton for helping out. I wanted to put the poster I uploaded to commons but the resolution was weird and the pic got layered. How do I upload a pic to a page directly? Thanks again and do feel free to make corrections —Preceding unsigned comment added by Adaabata (talkcontribs) 07:33, 18 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Whack!

You've been whacked with a wet trout.

Don't take this too seriously. Someone just wants to let you know that you did something silly.

Heads up -

[edit]

Hi - someone may have told you this before, but just a heads up: you should be waiting more than a minute before tagging articles with A1 or A3, as you did in Confirm friend. I've heard on multiple occasions, that 5 minutes is a good limit on when you can tag pages with these templates. Cheers! ∙:∙:.:pepper:.:∙:∙ 12:47, 27 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

DYK nomination of Hevisaurus

[edit]

Hello! Your submission of Hevisaurus at the Did You Know nominations page has been reviewed, and there still are some issues that may need to be clarified. Please review the comment(s) underneath your nomination's entry and respond there as soon as possible. Thank you for contributing to Did You Know! For your review

[edit]

When discussing films or actors who do not quite yet have the coverage to merit inclusion, you might consider referring to WP:TOOSOON rather that WP:HAMMER as the former deals with actors and films and the latter deals with albums. Schmidt, MICHAEL Q. 20:51, 30 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Cryingwind

[edit]

It was a tough call, since they were editing productively. I almost just left a warning, but I realized it wouldn't be fair to everyone else I've blocked for the same reason. Daniel Case (talk) 14:24, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The problem here is that "Crying Wind" is a notorious fraud, and the editor of the same name was desperately trying to cover up that fact by purging the article of any useful information. I've removed the unsound links, and provided links to solid reliable sources about her scamful history. --Orange Mike | Talk 15:15, 2 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Looks like a failure of due diligence on my part. But, much better to have made a mistake based on an excess rather than a lack of good faith, I would think.--Shirt58 (talk) 10:59, 4 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]
