Gigo Funakoshi
[edit]I am the founder of the Karate Taskforce on Wikipedia. You have really over-stepped by moving pages without consensus on a quite high profile figure in Shotokan Karate. The references in the article Yoshitaka Funakoshi mainly use Gigo. As per WP:COMMONNAME, the article should be titled by the most commonly-used name.
In future you need to be more thorough and post your plans to the Talk page of any article that you are going to move, rather than bulldoze it. If a nickname is the most common name then that's the name of page, for example Bruce Lee's name is Lee Jun-fan, and Chuck Norris is Carlos Ray Norris. I am going to attempt to roll-back your edits. Mountaincirquetalk 11:17, 5 April 2024 (UTC)
- Bruce Lee and Chuck Norris are stage names not nicknames. 80.182.36.109 (talk) 13:32, 5 April 2024 (UTC)
- It makes no difference to WP:Commonname. There are 21 mainspace instances of Gigo Funakoshi links on Wikipedia and 4 for Yoshikata Funakoshi. Mountaincirquetalk 14:23, 5 April 2024 (UTC)
Edward Snowden
[edit]Hi there, I noticed you removed Snowden's American citizenship without adding any citation. Do you have a reference to back up this claim? It's important for living person articles that changes such as these be backed up with quality citations. I've reverted the edit for now, but you're welcome to add it back if you can find a citation. If you need help adding the citation, I'd be more than happy to help. MrAureliusRYell at me! 19:18, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
- The United States revoked his citizenship when he was traveling from Hong Kong to South America and he therefore found himself stranded in Moscow while on a stopover 87.20.43.13 (talk) 19:22, 2 October 2024 (UTC)
