Ranjit Singh

[edit]

Thank you for your edit today of Ranjit Singh. You may have seen this extract from the article on Ranjit Singh in The Encyclopaedia of Sikhism:

"The administration of Mahārājā Raṇjīt Siṅgh may be described as a personalized military despotism based on popular will. Designated as the Sarkār Khālsā, it was an absolute centralized monarchy, but liberal and benevolent. Its chief merit was religious moderation and practical efficiency. Though based on military might and sustained by successive victories, it was extremely popular. As absolute monarch, Raṇjīt Siṅgh enjoyed great power which he wielded unhampered for the common weal of all his subjects Hindu, Sikh, Muhammadan and others."

It seems to me that RS can validly be accused of desecrating the Badshahi Mosque, but that he showed considerable tolerance of the different religions in his empire and did not persecute the Muslim community. What is your view? Apuldram (talk) 12:28, 3 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

-Hi Apuldram! Indeed, I agree with you. Sikh rule was peaceful and tolerant. Now, the desecration of the Badshahi Mosque cannot be accused, as you very well said, on RS. The love of justice, the continuous victories and the religious tolerance are all the reason why he is known as Sher-i-Punjab. Some theories cannot replace his grand reputation.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Sitush (talk) 11:56, 30 July 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You have blanked the page without explanation. I don't know the subject, it's the problem of basic rules - we don't blank pages.Xx236 (talk) 11:52, 9 August 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Need Help

[edit]

hi Gurbar Akaal, i need a help from you. In article of Bhagat singh in his early life it has been written " Bhagat singh a sandhu jat" (what thus it means?) it creats a misleading among readers, "Jat" is divided into three categories Sikh Jat, Muslim Jat and Hindu Jat. Bhagat singh was born in a Sikh jat family, when i edited this "Bhagat singh a sandhu sikh jat" there was a revert with the reason that he was an atheist and he never claimed that he was a Sikh . By seeing this point i edit one more time that " he was born in a Sikh jat family (as everyone knows) " and later he had become atheist. Again it is reverted , this edit-revert game (Edit war) was keep on going for several days as a result i was "Blocked". After Block has expired the talk has been started on this issue on Talk:Bhagat Singh where i come up with a proper reason and sources and they come up with an excuse. they argued that he never claimed he was a sikh (I agree) but he never too claimed that he was jat (only jat). I argued that "Bhagat singh a sandhu jat" means nothing and it is misleading where as we should change by editing that "He was born in a sandhu sikh jat family" but they have not replied till yet.

so i need your help to please support me on this issue on Talk:Bhagat Singh so that the talk reach its conclusion and change the article as it is misleading. here are the sources that clears that he was born in sikh jat family. Please see[1][2][3]

[4] [5][6][7][8][9] As i mentioned first, the first three source they come up with an excuse that it is a weak source because it is a Newswebsite (but already there are many source from newswebsite mentioned in a Bhagat singh). then i came up with another source which is based on a book and they have not replied yet.

so, i need your help to please come and support me on this issue on Talk:Bhagat Singh — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jagat jit singh (talkcontribs) 11:25, 30 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]
