Brian Jones
[edit]Hi Yeepsi, Five By Five is an E.P by The Rolling Stones, so why can't that be stated as per their first E.P. and Got Live If You Want It!?(Shelgold (talk) 22:33, 28 May 2013 (UTC))
We should do this here, for now. I can easily show you how to correctly cite anything from any book, so you won't have a similar problem in the future. I mean well, and I assume you are a good faith editor - I can show you better how to do this on your talk page... Doc9871 (talk) 22:50, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
Alright, so I see the section you're referring to... let me look something up here... Doc9871 (talk) 22:53, 28 December 2009 (UTC)
You have seen the JJF song page, where Jones is clearly listed as having played guitar, right? Jimmy Miller singing backup vocals, too? Apparently the problem seems to be not with whether Jones played guitar on the song, but the [citation needed] date question in the article. Jones played guitar on Satanic Majesty's, so the uncited statement that is in the article about him not playing guitar between 1967 and his death is false. So...Doc9871 (talk) 23:05, 28 December 2009 (UTC)

Rock n Roll Circus: Hi,the bit about Jaggert hinking The Stones performance at RnR circus was under par has only ever been said when compared with The Who as far as I am aware. Jethro Tull were miming anyway with Toni Iommi who was filling in on guitar. I have never read anywhere what Jagger thought of Taj Mahal's performance. It was probably down to the fact that Brian was not able to play very well that their performance was lacklustre because Keith had to cope with two guitar parts.(Shelgold (talk) 22:25, 30 December 2009 (UTC)) Shelgold 30.12.09
Re Wyman page: Green Ice came out in the 80's and not the 60's as stated. Changed.
tranplanted from my sandbox ...
[edit]your message: Hi Sssoul, did you see my talk about R n R Circus? I have only ever read that Jagger was unhappy with Stones performance because The Who where fantastic. Jethro Tull were miming anyway with Toni Iommi who was not a slide player and I have never read that Jagger thought Taj Mahal's perf. was better than stones. Stones were underpar due to Brian's inability to perform which is why he can only be heard on JJF and NE.
- my reply: hello Shelgold. when you leave messages for people, please make sure you're on their WP:talk page and not in their "sandbox", okay? and please start "signing" your posts on talk pages, by adding four tildes at the end, like this: ~~~~.
- i too am aware of speculation that the Stones felt their performance at the Rock & Roll Circus compared badly to The Who's, but everything i've read about it is speculation and can't be presented as if it were fact. if you have a reliable source quoting any of the Stones about it, then cite it by all means. other people's speculation isn't of much value, and unsourced stuff that we remember reading somewhere doesn't meet Wikipedia's verifiability policy.
- please do get acquainted with Wikipedia's policies - WP:introduction is a pretty good place to start. it's a bit daunting at first but getting familiar with the policies & guidelines really makes it a lot easier to contribute. thanks Sssoul (talk) 21:15, 4 January 2010 (UTC)
