- Don't be afraid to edit! Just find something that can be improved and make it better. Other editors will help fix any mistakes you make.
- It's normal to feel a little overwhelmed, but don't worry if you don't understand everything at first—it's fine to edit using common sense.
- If an edit you make is reverted, you can discuss the issue at the article's talk page. Be civil, and don't restore the edit unless there is consensus.
- Always use edit summaries to explain your changes.
- When adding new content to an article, always include a citation to a reliable source.
- If you wish to edit about a subject with which you are affiliated, read our conflict of interest guide and disclose your connection.
- Have fun! Your presence in the Wikipedia community is welcome.

- Thank you for your kind welcome, but I really don't think I am going to be doing any actual editing, because I am too old and have too many other time-consuming interests to be bothered to learn how. I don't find even using this page easy. Last night I found some useful links, but then it was bedtime, and by this morning Wikipedia had logged me out, and I couldn't log back in without losing what I had done. But occasionally, if I feel sufficiently strongly about a matter, maybe I could come here and someone cleverer could look at the issue. I don't even know how to find yesterday's conversation again now. Sheenabetts (talk) 19:47, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
- Hi @Sheenabetts. I think yesterday's conversation could refer to Wikipedia:Teahouse#De_Selby_-_please_don't_remove_this_page!? You have responses there. Old is only relative! But I understand if you are too busy to become an expert Wikipedia editor. Since you appear to have a good handle on discussion pages condider posting suggestions there if you don't have the skills to edit an article yourself. Every article has a "Talk" page for comments. The Teahouse is also useful if you get stuck.
- @Iggy pop goes the weasel, @Bonadea: are we not pinging people in Teahouse responses for some reason? Commander Keane (talk) 20:55, 30 October 2024 (UTC)
