Rejection of Mumbai Confidential page

[edit]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Mumbai_Confidential

Sharafat, new to wikipedia, so trying to parse the meaning of notability. I went through the links and AFAIK, at least two major newspapers (Mid-day and LiveMint/WSJ were cited as sources along with Comic book related news sites like Newsarama). Just wished to understand the "source reliability"/"notability" criteria before I re-edit/re-submit IyamTheGreat (talk) 06:12, 30 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Rejection of Abul Kalam Azad page

[edit]

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia_talk:Articles_for_creation/Abul_Kalam_Azad

Hi Sharafat thank you. I am new to writing article to wikipedia and I intend to write many articles about contemporary indian artists. Abul Kalam Azad is a noted south indian artist and has participated in many exhibitions. He is in the field of photography for 33 years and is noted for his innovative approach through this medium. His images have been published in a notebook form and covered in local media. Also, I have now included more reference links. Kindly let me know what to do - if there is more to add, I am happy to do so. Thanks,

Agni shylam (talk) 13:08, 7 June 2013 (UTC) Agni Shylam[reply]

Hi Sharafat. Abul Kalam Azad has received Charles Wallace Trust Award (fellowship 1995) (http://www.wallace-trusts.org.uk/cwt_india.html) and also French Government Scholarship (BGF grants). Only one or two candidates all over India will be given these grants. This itself shows his notability. Besides, His works have been exhibited at Fotomuseum winterthur, Switcherland; White Chapel Gallery, London; Photographers Gallery, Edinburgh; Pitshanger Museum, London; Aspekte moderner Kunst; GTZ Gallery, Frankfurt and many more National and International solo and group exhibitions. I have provided reference to most of these shows. All the above are internationally known organisations / galleries / museums. Any photographer, unless his contribution to contemporary Indian art is recognised cannot exhibit this widely. 'Where Three Dreams Cross' is an International show in which only 150 artists were exhibited from three countries - India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Abul Kalam Azad is one among them. I have provided reference for this as well. His works are going to be exhibited in the upcoming United Art Fair 2013 which is very noted in India and I have provided the website link mentioning that announcement. The Hindu is the most circulated News paper in India and his stories / works are covered in this media. There are also Television interviews linked as reference.

Do let me know what more is required to prove his notability. I am happy to provide. Happy to receive any guidance / clarity. Thank you. My interest is in art and I am interested to write several articles on South Indian artists. Thanks.

Dear Sharafat, I have edited the page as you have suggested and now awaiting your response. Thank you. Agni shylam (talk) 07:44, 16 June 2013 (UTC)Agni Shylam[reply]

Why did you reject this submission as "insufficient context"? In my opinion, it's a perfectly acceptable start article, so I've accepted it. GorillaWarfare (talk) 16:33, 1 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, and thank you for your recent contribution. I appreciate the effort you made for our project, but unfortunately I had to undo your edit because I believe the article was better before you made that change. Feel free to contact me directly if you have any questions. Thank you! - Cwobeel (talk) 05:30, 21 December 2014 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Jammu and Kashmir Police, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Ashura. Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Hello I just wanted to let you know I have reverted your addition of your name to the participant list due to your edit count. We require that participant have at least 500 main space edits, you are current quite below that bar.- McMatter (talk)/(contrib) 13:59, 14 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello. I noticed that you attempted to file a deletion discussion (on the article Iqbal Memorial Institute) but did not complete the process. Please note that, when listing an article for deletion, a discussion page needs to be made for other users to discuss whether to keep or delete the article. This is typically done by following the steps listed here. Note that if you are editing as an unregistered user, you cannot create a discussion page. Please consider registering an account or asking another user to help you complete the process at Wikipedia talk:Articles for deletion. Thank you. ansh666 06:05, 3 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I noticed that you may have recently made edits while logged out. Making edits while logged out reveals your IP address, which may allow others to determine your location and identity. Hey the tone Grand Ashura Procession In Kashmir article is not neutral which is against the policy of wikipedia. You can challenge my edit where ever you can. I don't have any problem.

Editing while logged out

[edit]

As Ugog Nizdast mentioned above editing, while logged out is usually fine, but it is not a useful strategy for ones edits to escape scrutiny. You are welcome to remove messages from your talk-page (per the talk-page guideline), but I have reverted the "terrorist" label you re-added to the Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistan article while editing as 101.212.212.30 (talk). See WP:TERRORIST for why we avoid doing this in wikipedia's voice. Abecedare (talk) 05:20, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Yes; thank you Abecedare. So, we have non-neutral editing, edit warring, disruption, editing while logged out, making false accusations of vandalism (restoring your false accusation on my talk page was foolish). I see you left my "final warning": I hope that means you comprehend what it means. Thank you. Drmies (talk) 12:51, 12 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Arbitration Case Request notifications

[edit]

Mifciw, when you post an arbitration case request you need to notify all of the involved parties of your action so that they can respond. You also need to supply diffs (links) that show you notified them. I have done so with your case but please do this yourself if you file case requests in the future. Liz Read! Talk! 08:58, 13 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Topic-banned

[edit]

Despite my warnings above and multiple other warnings by others, you have continued to edit disruptively: by deceptively editing both with your account and logged-out; by inserting tendentious opinionated (and ungrammatical) language into articles (like here); and by repeatedly insulting those editors who oppose your content "vandals" [1].

Under the rules of the discretionary sanctions imposed by Arbcom (as explained above), you are therefore now topic-banned from all edits (both article content and talk page discussion, anywhere on Wikipedia) on topics related to the Kashmir conflict and the history of Kashmir, broadly construed. This topic ban is of indefinite duration. If you make any edits in breach of it, you will be blocked without further warning. You may appeal against this restriction through the channels outlined at WP:AC/DS. This sanction will be logged at WP:AC/DSL. Fut.Perf. 17:26, 14 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

And since you roundly ignored this ban and simply continued editing as before, I have blocked you. Fut.Perf. 04:57, 15 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Speedy deletion nomination of Molvi Imran Raza Ansari

[edit]

Hello Mifciw,

I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Molvi Imran Raza Ansari for deletion, because it seems to be an article that was created in violation of a block or ban. Content created by banned users will be deleted immediately.

If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted, you can contest this deletion, but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.

You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Roshan014 (talk) 11:49, 18 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
