License tagging for Image:M88logo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:M88logo.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 14:02, 22 August 2006 (UTC)

Image tagging for Image:CuttingEdgeOct91.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:CuttingEdgeOct91.jpg. The image has been identified as not specifying the source and creator of the image, which is required by Wikipedia's policy on images. If you don't indicate the source and creator of the image on the image's description page, it may be deleted some time in the next seven days. If you have uploaded other images, please verify that you have provided source information for them as well.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

Orphaned fair use image (Image:Klyt1982small.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Klyt1982small.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Fair use rationale for Image:CuttingEdgeOct91.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:CuttingEdgeOct91.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. BigrTex 20:42, 1 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have also tagged the following images as {{no rationale}}, because they do not provide a fair use rationale. If you believe the image(s) to be acceptable for fair use according to Wikipedia policy, please provide a rationale explaining as much, in accordance with the fair use rationale guideline, on the image description pages.

A brief note …

[edit]

Hi. We have a strong conflict of interest rules here and you're not supposed to write about yourself or your work. You're also not supposed to link to sites related to you or your work. You can read the official, brusque notice about conflicts of interest at:

I don't care much for the tone but it's got good links you should look at.

We appreciate your work here! --A. B. (talkcontribs) 16:30, 13 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Follow up to A.B.

[edit]

Dear A.B.: You will notice from my user contribution list that I edit and write on a wide variety of topics in Wikipedia. My user contribution list also indicates that I also keep a close eye on POV and other guidelines when editing and contributing.

In the case of your last edit on the Claas Epp, Jr. page, you will find that including information about a recent creative work associated with the subject is consistent with Wikipedia guidelines. If there is a formatting issue, please let me know - I am willing to learn more about inserting proper citation, etc. However, the sentence regarding the presence of the documentary about Epp does not violate Wikipedia guidelines. Thank you.

I realize you make unrelated, valuable contributions here which is why I did not use the brusque {{uw-coi}} template. Nevertheless, you must abide by our Conflict of Interest Guideline. I encourage you to read the message (including the hyperlinked material) at Template:uw-coi. If, after that, you still think you should add material or links about yourself or your work, first get consensus to do so at the Conflict of interest Noticeboard. --A. B. File source problem with File:ClaasEppJr.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:ClaasEppJr.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next seven days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. mattbr 07:02, 29 August 2022 (UTC)[reply]
