AfD nomination of Kolkata Violence

[edit]

An editor has nominated Kolkata Violence, an article on which you have worked or that you created, for deletion. We appreciate your contributions, but the nominator doesn't believe that the article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion and has explained why in his/her nomination (see also "What Wikipedia is not").

Your opinions on whether the article meets inclusion criteria and what should be done with the article are welcome; please participate in the discussion by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Kolkata Violence and please be sure to sign your comments with four tildes (~~~~).

You may also edit the article during the discussion to improve it but should not remove the articles for deletion template from the top of the article; such removal will not end the deletion debate. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 00:59, 1 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Shantanu. Just wanted to let you know that we appreciate your desire to contribute to Wikipedia, but we have several guidelines that all editors must follow. Making the article Kolkata Violence longer and more detailed does not meet help it meet Wikipedia standards. What it needs is to add references to reliable, third-party sources. I suggest you read Your first article, and follow up with our policies on original research and verifiability. As far as this article goes, are there perhaps some newspaper articles or books that you know of that cover this subject? If you have any questions feel free to reply here. —BradV 22:48, 2 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I've left a copy of the article at User:Shantanu786/Kolkata Violence so you can make improvements to make an article that meets Wikipedia guidelines. Once, the improvements are made, you can ask for a deletion review. Thanks! --JForget 23:58, 5 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. One of the core policies of Wikipedia is that articles should always be written from a neutral point of view. A contribution you made to Benazir Bhutto appears to carry a non-neutral point of view, and your edit may have been changed or reverted to correct the problem. Please remember to observe our core policies. Thank you. SMS Talk 19:03, 6 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not add content without citing reliable sources, as you did to National Defence University, Islamabad. Before making potentially controversial edits, it is recommended that you discuss them first on the article's talk page. If you are familiar with Wikipedia:Citing sources please take this opportunity to add references to the article. Contact me if you need assistance adding references. Thank you.
