Canning stock route

[edit]

Shamto, Thank you for your recent additions to the article on the CSR, some valuable history has been added. On my first reading of the section Aboriginal Perspective, I was left a little mystified by the following words until I clicked on the reference. The words are clearly those of the Aboriginal leader Clifford Brooks, but it is not obvious in the article that it is a quote of his. May I suggest that the sentence be attributed to Clifford Brooks in the section either directly before or after the quote, to avoid any confusing interpretation.

We wanna tell you fellas 'bout things been happening in the past that hasn't been recorded, what old people had in their head. No pencil and paper. The white man history has been told and it's today in the book. But our history is not there properly. We've got to tell 'em through our paintings.

You're invited to the Canberra WikiMeetup on 20 November 2011

[edit]

Hi! We're having a Canberra Wikimeetup on 20 November 2011 at Siren Bar in Gunghalin from 2pm to 4pm. It's most just a chance to chat with other local Wikipedians, get a chance to go a different sort of bar (which is reasonably kid friendly, serves real food, and has non-alcholic options), and, if you're interested, learning more about what Wikimedia Australia and local GLAM projects are happening. We'd love to see you and any Wikipedia/Wikimedia/wiki loving friends you have there. --LauraHale (talk) 07:22, 31 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. When you recently edited Melbourne Cup, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Victoria (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

A note about Au Daimlers

[edit]

Hi Shamto, I've just removed your addition to the Daimler Company article, because it is substantially a repeat of the item previously transferred to a note (see near the foot of the article under NOTES, note 4), for the reasons given in the edit summary. If you feel this (the note) is inadequate can we talk about that? Regards, Eddaido (talk) 07:33, 16 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page.
