User talk:Shambodalton
The article Glenn Higgins has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not assert notability may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.
Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. NawlinWiki 21:55, 20 January 2007 (UTC)
Hoax
[edit]Ok, maybe it was true. How come you can cite a source now, but you couldn't then? Regardless of whether or not it is true, the statements that you have added are out of place (placing a local personality in the lead paragraph of an article on a town in such a manner is innappropriate) and the statements that you have made did not adhere to the Wikipedia NPOV policies. There is little reason to mention the coach/captain/manager of the local children's football team. Also, it is worth mentioning that Wikipedia has a guideline about writing about yourself, so as to stop you exaggerating your own relevence to subjects. Also, threatening me is not going to get you anywhere, but it may get you in trouble on this site. If you are eagre to improve the Dalton in Furness page, please do so, but don't just plug it with mentions of yourself. There are plenty of people who equally deserve a mention, but I would say that it wasn't worth mentioning most of them. See Askam and Ireleth, which is currently a good article nomination, and compare. That should give you an idea about the kind of things that should be mentioned. The adult sports teams, yes, but not single individuals linked to the children's ones. Contact me if I can be of any help, but note that I am going to be offline for a few hours now. Not Self Plugging ?
[edit]ok you write an article on dalton jfc then.
and as for me i now manage at professional level and hold a UEFA A PRO LICENSE ( the highest footballing coaching qualification in the world) i take it upon myself to voluntarily return to my roots to offer my expertise, in which i won the clubs only major honour.
i think you have missed the point here,
and i appreciate football isnt your strong and i wouldnt expect you to understand the implications of the beautiful game.
P.S you got excluded for hitting a girl right ? - that would be a shame if it got out ?

- You answer on my talk page, not your own. I have never been excluded or expelled from any school, for anything. I am not even going to bother responding to the other points, you are blatantly interested only in causing disruption and plugging your own name, and not improving the encyclopedia. Why don't you think about what Wikipedia represents, and then come back if you think you want to be part of that. If you do not, then I would advise you stop your contributions. - Hi Shambodalton. Unfortunately, we have guidelines for sports clubs and people about who we can and can't include (see WP:BIO and WP:GROUP). Wikipedia is not MySpace or Facebook and though the UEFA pro licence is a good qualification, it dosen't make you notable until you have done anything. Go down to Holker Street and get involved in the coaching there and hey presto, you'd probably qualify for an article.
- As for Dalton JFC; similarly, I don't think that would qualify for an aritcle. However, you could write one on Dalton United F.C..
- Also, just reading the above - please note that we do not tolerate personal attacks on Wikipedia. Continuing to do this would result in a block. --Robdurbar 08:27, 24 January 2007 (UTC)
Unspecified source for Image:Dalton_JFC.GIF
[edit]Thanks for uploading Image:Dalton_JFC.GIF. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 17:26, 9 June 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. The Sunshine Man 17:26, 9 June 2007 (UTC)
