If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{cc-by-sa-3.0}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. Note, if you did create this file, you may want to upload it to Wikimedia Commons, which will allow the image to be accessed by all Wikimedia Foundation projects (which include the various localized versions of Wikipedia)
If you did not create this media file, please understand that the vast majority of images found on the internet are not appropriate for Wikipedia. Most content on the internet is copyrighted and the creator of the image has exclusive rights to use it. Wikipedia respects the copyrights of others - do not upload images that violate others' copyrights. In certain limited cases, we may be able to use an image under a claim of fair use - if you are certain that fair use would apply here, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list. If no fair use rationale applies, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.
If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. (ESkog)(Talk) 12:54, 13 October 2009 (UTC)File deleted
[edit]Hello, your image was deleted because you marked it as being for non-commercial use only. That is an incompatible license type for use on Wikipedia. If you upload an image here, you have to assign a compatible license. The most restrictive license you could choose would be Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike (CC-BY-SA), which allows people to use the image for whatever purpose they want (including commercial) as long as they attribute the source (you) and maintain the same license. So, when you upload the file, make sure you choose Creative Commons Attribution Share Alike from the drop-down license menu. If you choose non-commercial, you should see a giant warning sign that your image is going to be deleted, which is why it was deleted.
I realize these terms are not desirable for everyone, but we are trying to build a free resource without restrictive licencing. If you don't want to license your image under those terms, you shouldn't upload it here.
Hope this helps! --Spike Wilbury (talk) 15:42, 14 December 2009 (UTC)
Speedy deletion nomination of Carl plansky
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Carl plansky requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.
If you think that this notice was placed here in error, contest the deletion by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion," which appears inside of the speedy deletion ({{db-...}}
) tag (if no such tag exists, the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate). Doing so will take you to the talk page where you will find a pre-formatted place for you to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ttonyb (talk) 18:02, 2 June 2011 (UTC)
Managing a conflict of interest
[edit]Hello, Seventex. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about in the article Golden Artist Colors, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. Editing for the purpose of advertising or promotion is not permitted. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:
- avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, company, organization or competitors;
- propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (see the {{request edit}} template);
- disclose your COI when discussing affected articles (see WP:DISCLOSE);
- avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
- do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.
In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).
Also please note that editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Your employment disclosure on your user page is much appreciated. As the boilerplate notice above says, you're not prohibited from editing the article on your employer, but it is discouraged. If you choose to do so, please remember you're editing an encyclopedia, not promoting your employer or its products. Contact me if there's anything I can help with. -- GS ⋙ ☎ 10:49, 6 January 2018 (UTC)
