Addition to Edward Burton Hughes
[edit]Corrected Jane Williams' birthdate on the Edward Burton Hughes page (Edward's wife) (Reference: 1940 US Census) and removed her incorrect genealogy. Work in progress.
Addition to Oceanography
[edit]Hi, Sevenseaocean! I added a {{Failed verification}} tag to the end of your recent addition at Oceanography, because the claim that "Never before had such a comprehensive study of the oceans been published and Williams garnered huge praise for his work." needs to be present in the reference in order to be included in a Wikipedia article. A link to the book itself is evidence that the book exists, but the claims need to have a secondary source (e.g. a website on the history of oceanography that discusses the book). (See WP:Verifiability and WP:No original research.) In searching for the book online, I could not quickly find a website that explains the book's history and may have this claim. Are you aware of one? – Rhinopias (talk) 23:32, 15 October 2017 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited George Philip (cartographer), you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Science Museum (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

[edit]Please do not add or change content, as you did at Air conditioning, without citing a reliable source. Please review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Citing sources and take this opportunity to add references to the article. Thank you. General Ization Talk 19:57, 21 January 2018 (UTC)
To Wikipedia: It seems the information on Air conditioning is incorrect relating to exactly which building is considered to be the first building in the world to have had air conditioning. I only need point you in the direction of St. George's Hall, Liverpool, where you will see it has clearly been stated: 'In the basement is part of a unique heating and ventilation system devised by Dr Boswell Reid.[11] This was the first attempt at providing air conditioning in a public building in the United Kingdom, its aim being to warm and ventilate the building without draughts. Air was warmed by five hot water pipes which were heated by two coke-fired boilers and two steam boilers. The air was circulated by four fans 10 feet (3 m) wide. It was controlled by a large number of workers opening and closing a series of canvas flaps.[21] In 2005 the Heritage Group of the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers awarded its first Blue Plaque to St George's Hall recognising it as the World's First Air Conditioned Building.[22]' You will also note that there are references. Also may I point you in the direction of David Boswell Reid who invented the air conditioning at St Georges Hall. Reid the Ventilator was his invention. Clearly, the Air conditioning Wiki page is not telling the full history of air conditioning. As my photographic evidence which I uploaded to Wikipedia has been rejected by General Ization and Wtshymanski I trust you will look into the matter as the wiki Air conditioning page presently misinforms the public and is incorrect. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Sevenseaocean (talk • contribs) 23:48, 21 January 2018 (UTC)
- See the message above. The correct response on your part to that warning is to cite the source that is being used to support the claim at St. George's Hall, Liverpool. You may not make the claim here without citing a source here in this article that supports it. See WP:BURDEN. General Ization Talk 23:49, 21 January 2018 (UTC)
My Address to Wikipedia stands as I have written it. The wiki Air conditioning page presently misinforms the public and is incorrect.
