I've done some copyediting and formatted the references, but to be honest, they are still a mess.

  • I've removed those that pointed to Wikipedia and Wikipedia mirrors, because that would be circular.
  • The NBC, CBS and arguably the Ski Channel references are primary sources, talking about Schlanger as the respective company's employee. The Ski Channel reference does not say what it's cited for, either.
  • The Ohio State Athletics website probably does not have the reputation for fact-checking and accuracy necessary to be considered a reliable source.
  • I have no idea what the "2010 Open Championship Golf Release" is supposed to be, and a Google search for that term came up empty.
  • The Google Docs link gave me an error message: "Sorry, we were unable to find the document at the original source." I removed it.
  • I didn't quite know what to do with three links, one from the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and two from the St. Louis Journalism Review. For now I've just labeled them "external links" and left it at that. They might be used as references, but the Post-Dispatch piece provides only trivial coverage, and the others aren't much better.
  • There was a reference to the Journalism Review about Schlanger and the St. Louis Cardinals, but neither of the linked articles mentioned Schlanger in connection with the Cardinals.
  • There are still many factoids which are not supported by any source at all. For example, one of the press releases did mention Schlanger's wife and two kids, but I couldn't verify their names.

In summary, while the draft's references now look a little better, that's just optical, and I'm not convinced Schlanger is notable. Huon (talk) 01:32, 6 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
