Re: AC Timeline
[edit]I can't think of any logical reason for The Fall to be put first. Did the IPs give any decent reasons anywhere? I don't see any. Sir William Matthew Flinders Petrie | Say Shalom! 14:15, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
- Neither do I, but I decided to ask for help first, as I know the rules badly and I don't want to be blamed in excessive reverts. If you agree with me, could you please express it by editing the template. Thanks in advance, --Sergey WereWolf (talk) 19:09, 4 July 2011 (UTC)
IP block

Block message:
The IP address that you are currently using has been blocked because it is believed to be an open proxy.
- Blocking administrator: not provided (talk • blocks)
Decline reason: Sorry, I've verified that there is indeed a wide open http proxy at 46.31.24.17:8080. I can't remove this block. Other options can be discussed if you have a severe need to edit from a proxy. Kuru (talk) 18:27, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
- Can I ask why you're currently using an open proxy? (talk→ BWilkins ←track) 13:10, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
- Surely you can ask. I'm not using any open proxies, I'm using a dynamic IP that my ISP assigned me. I believe a lot of people are also using this IP because of NAT, and it's my bad luck that this IP is at the moment considered a proxy. Can I prove that I'm not using proxy somehow? --Sergey WereWolf (talk) 13:44, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
- Kuru, could you please tell me how you have verified it. The thing is, I'm sure I'm not using any proxy servers and 46.31.24.17 is my real IP. I've checked my computer with KIS so I'm pretty sure I don't have any malware. In fact, I wanted to ask for a WP:IPBE, but if it is not an easy decision, I shall wait until my IP changes next time and hope it won't be on any proxies list. Thanks everyone for help, though. --Sergey WereWolf (talk) 20:31, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
- Si. I scanned the IP; the port scan mapped five open tcp ports, 8080 came back with "http-open-proxy: Potentially OPEN proxy". I then connected through the port to verify; it's a wide open proxy. If you're the only one at this IP, you may want to make sure you don't have unintended malware on your box; otherwise this is likely a gateway. Kuru (talk) 20:52, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
- I know that I'm not the only user of this IP. Most likely, a dozen of people in my neighbourhood are using it, it's a drawback of my ISP. It's possible that one of them has set up a proxy on his own computer, isn't it? Another question is, am I eligible to become an IP block exemption. Thanks for an answer, it calms me down, at least :-) --Sergey WereWolf (talk) 21:11, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
- I'm fine with it; I'll turn it on so you can edit now and will turn it over to a checkuser to verify that there hasn't been any oddity with that IP. Kuru (talk) 23:11, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot. I appreciate your help. --Sergey WereWolf (talk) 23:19, 28 January 2012 (UTC)
- I took a look at Kuru's request and didn't see any cause for concern. Please read WP:IPBE carefully, this flag is on par with the trust given to administrators. Please let me know when you no longer need this flag, otherwise, happy editing. :) WilliamH (talk) 13:15, 29 January 2012 (UTC)
