- Please bear these points in mind while editing Wikipedia
- Respect copyrights – do not copy and paste text or images directly from other websites.
- Maintain a neutral point of view – this is one of Wikipedia's core policies.
- Take particular care while adding biographical material about a living person to any Wikipedia page and follow Wikipedia's Biography of Living Persons policy. Particularly, controversial and negative statements should be referenced with multiple reliable sources.
- No edit warring or sock puppetry.
- If you are testing, please use the Sandbox to do so.
- Do not add troublesome content to any article, such as: copyrighted text, libel, advertising or promotional messages, and text that is not related to an article's subject. Deliberately adding such content or otherwise editing articles maliciously is considered vandalism; doing so will result in your account or IP being blocked from editing.
- Do not use talk pages as discussion or forum pages as Wikipedia is not a forum.
The Wikipedia tutorial is a good place to start learning about Wikipedia. If you have any questions, see the help pages, add a question to the village pump or ask me on my talk page. By the way, you can sign your name on Talk and discussion pages using four tildes, like this: ~~~~ (the software will replace them with your signature and the date). Again, welcome! Deleting everything to weigh the article down with criticism only
[edit]Kautilya3, i have edited to keep the page neutral rather than concentrate fully and solely on criticism. I urge you to keep it neutral rather than putting your best efforts in deleting important information which is trying to present both sides of the coin. - — Preceding unsigned comment added by Secular777 (talk • contribs)
- I suppose this is about Yellapragada Sudershan Rao. Wikipedia summarises what reliable, third party sources say about a topic. I am afraid the stuff from the ICHR web site, which essentially functioned as his blog while he lasted there, isn't third party. It is also a WP:PRIMARY source, whereas Wikipedia uses WP:SECONDARY sources.
- There is no policy about presenting "both sides of the coin." Wikipedia is not a newspaper or television channel, even though many people seem to mistake it to be one. We only strive to maintain WP:BALANCE within reliable, third-party sources. - Kautilya3 (talk) 09:56, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
Kautilya3 you have removed several other independent third party references, including India Today, and egovernance magazine. I am reinstating those references as they are relevant.
- When there is a dispute, the recommended protocol is WP:BRD. You should not make any further edits, but discuss on the article talk page so that all the involved editors can come to a consensus. In fact, the article is likely to be protected soon because of excessive edit-warring. So, discussion is the key. When you look at the article history, you can find links to the old edits (see WP:Diff), which you can mention in talk page discussion. - Kautilya3 (talk) 12:50, 29 November 2015 (UTC)
